If you want a current game, No Man's Sky. Plain and simple. Avoid this game like the plague unless you can get it at a low price. Even then, is it worth the precious free time you'll be pouring into tedious ingredient farming?

pretty sure we're talking about 3DS games but you're not wrong

Never been a fan of "football players shooting in space" video games that seem quite popular for a while now. Luckily not too many of those on 3ds.

I'd avoid metroid:federation silllies.
Luigi mansion 2 pales in comparison to the first one, but is still fun.
tales of the abyss is really crappy.

Every Disney game except Kingdom Hearts and some others. Also Asphalt 3D, it could have been a good game if not for it's lags. Rayman 3D and Rayman Origins are absolutely no go, those ports are enormously bad. Oh, and there were 2 Naruto games. Powerful Shippuden is surprisingly a really good one, the other one is horrible.

Blockform for the New3DS.

I have downloaded and played more enjoyable platform games for free...
Damn I was about to say that. It doesn't even run properly on the new 3ds despite the game having no textures. Flavoured Cats looked more fun than this, shame they turned it into BlockForm.

What's about Freakyforms: Deluxe? It's much cheaper than Cubic Ninja
You can also find copies much easier. I found one yesterday in the Walmart near my house.

Anyways, to respond to the OP, avoid Minecraft clones. That's all I can really think of.

I thought the game ran pretty smooth when I tried it, but from an aesthetics and gameplay point of view, it was not pleasing at all.
Unsuprisingly, I can also confirm they made the game through Unity:

They also didn't even bother to implement any 3D into the game, which I think is a completely wasted opportunity* for any 3DS content without 3D.

*(Also very easy to implement if you're using Unity as well! :()

I can't really say it ran smooth for me. When you collected a coin the game would stop for about half a second (and that didn't really help on the last level since I would end up falling to my death) and when going back to the menu the music would start crackling.

Ahh, yeah I just tried that now and can see where you're coming from. :P
That reminds me - they also completely fucked up the 3-second banner jingle on the Home Menu. :glare:

I made the large mistake of buying Paper Mario: Sticker Star. Do not buy it.
Mario and Luigi: Dream Team was honestly just boring.
Anything else I've played has been worth my time and money. The 3DS has a really good lineup of games.

Dream Team is a good game. The problem is that Superstar Saga and Bowser's Inside Story were just too amazing and make the other games in the series look weak
