Hi everyone, I've buyed a new 512gb sd card and after restoring with hekate the Sysnand with the backup made in hekate I can boot in atmosphere in the new sd card, but all the installed nsp games have disappeared...

Anyone can help me? Thanks in advance,

Sounds like your games were installed to the SD card not the internal emmc. Move the content of /Nintendo of your old SD to the new SD. Making a backup of the New SD /Nintendo folder first just in case of course. Report back if it worked!

Hi Kylum, thanks for the answer, yes, all the games are installed in the SD, I've copied the Nintendo folder from the old SD cardto the new SD card and I still can't see the games :-(

What I´ve understood is that games database are in the sysnad backup, so when I restored following the guide they should appear.

Any help would be appreciated, the only solution I find its to reinstall all the games but I want to avoid that at the moment :-)

Thanks in advance!

Mauri

That won't work, you'll need to redownload your games with the new sd card. Redownloading is the only way, the folders just keep the data and when launching it looks in that exact place, new sd card means new storage place.

Hi Laramie, thanks for the answer, games were installed through usb (they are nsp files), is there any way to update my installed nsp backups in the switch games database?

Thanks in advance :-)

idk what you are asking but if you mean how can you reinstall the nsp's(digital games) I use DBI but they will still need to be installed again saadly.

Hi thanks, I've seen that in several threads that people its migrating info from one sd to another larger sd and they don't loose any information, I think there is a way of doing it, what do you think?

they might have an emunand(copied sysnand) on the sd card, so it all loads the same stuff from there. That won't work with sysnand unless it's installed to the internal emmc(32gb)

I´ve restored with hekate the old emunand (the nand backup was made with all the games installed), and its running in the sd, that's why I don´t understand why I don't see the games :-(

game data is in the nintendo folder but there is no (link) to actually launch the games, they need to be installed again, just for the launch, the data is there just not the game icon which is used to link to that folder data to launch games.

@Maurafarah My apologies for having you do something that wouldn’t work. I actually miss read what you had posted originally. However I’m still a little confused. What where you trying to achieve by restoring a backup of your sysnand? Did you make a backup of when everything was working?

Hi Kylum, thanks for your answer :-)

I was restoring a backup of the old sd in the new sd because I thought that the games icons would be preserved :-(

So everything works, but no games appear in the menu...

Also I copied the content from the old sd but no luck... :-(

My advice to you is to always store your NSP/XCI files on a external HD. It's hard to clone a emuMMC you probally have to download all those games again and start from scratch. Considering you ran into this problem you could have just put the old files back on the SD card and just installed again versus now starting from scratch.

It's not like a PS Vita where you can clone a card and all the games will be on it the switch is different. I know what exactly you are trying to be done but it's super complicated it's easier just to put the game back on the switch again and install it fresh.

@Draxzelex did something change in HOS as when I did the exact change from a 64gb SD card to a 512gb SD I believe back on 8.x.x I clearly don’t remember having the issue the OP is having. I’m either missing something or straight up don’t remember having this issue

All you need to do when migrating to new SD is format it to the same format as old, then copy all files from old and paste it to new.

No backup restoring needed at all.

I don't recall hearing anything of the sort for firmware 8.X
