hey i've been trying for a bit now to get my wii(4.2U) to play backed up Gc games i have cmios v8 installed(with wad manager 3.0 ios 250) and i have 2 different launchers 1 is like a emulator of some sort and it now(after installing cmios) reads it's start.dol but thats as far as it gos and i have WiiGator's Gc luncher0.2 and whenever i start it i get a black screen and my wii remote disconnects so any help on this would be awsome

Do you have IOS249rev17 installed?
If not install it.

I also read it's best to install cmios as v4.

Also i have been trying other launcher like neogamma and u loader they both give me only black screen if that helps you fugher out the problem

Check the settings in neogamma.

Are you using NTSC Wii and games?

i can't even get into neogamma or any of the other launchers the screen just go's black when i try launching them and yes i have a NTSC wii(4.2U)

cmios(you sent me) go's black screened as well

Did you delete the stubs?

Did you fake-sign IOS36 with DOP-IOS Mod?
You will need to do that first. http://sites.google.com/site/completesg/hacking-guide/trucha

Also read the page to delete stubs.

Re-install IOS249 rev17 and cMIOS

Thanks for all the help and i tryed using your guide but it doesn't completely work for 4.2 so i used http://gwht.wikidot.com/ios249 and there suggested program and then tryed Gc Launcher(wiiGator) b4 reinstalling mcios and it loaded up fine so in results my wii is now stable and i have confirmed that McIOS v8 can be installed with WAD Manager 3

It should also be noted that some games just are not compatible as backups for whatever reason.

There are lists around with what is and isn't, and some that are in between (you need to do something special to play them [the lists tell you what to do])

I know that PSO Ep 1&2 is not compatible, for instance. There are others too.

yes i know about that and pikmin 1 dous work i think it just maybe my wii's laser is wearing out cuz it wount play any backups and some store bought games (super smash bro's)
