Dammit, I sometimes wish that I can find places to learn how to do this... I have WAY too much free time nowadays.
Well if Project Cafe is announced at E3, I'd say the Wii only has a little over a year left. I'm also guessing that GC support will die with the Wii.

Nope, think about it. If Cafe has backward compatability with Wii games, (which it absolutely should, and I'd be shocked if it didn't), then that would mean it would have to support the control methods for all wii games. And as I'm sure you're aware many wii games offer support of gamecube controllers (Brawl, Mario Kart, Sonic Unleashed, Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom, etc. etc.). So, if the new system will have slots for GC controllers, it would only make sense to include gamecube compatibility at that point.

It doesnt 'have' to support GC input. GC pad support is secondary and not required to play any of those games.

Ans what's about a gamecube emulator to shift around the memory access problems? The needed hardware is on board so that only system calls must be emulated (easy point of view).

...is this actually possible?

@op: dont let jerks like this discourage you.. kudos to you for trying something first without posting but maybe you should read more.

theres alot of good reading material in the stickies. also check out complete softmod guide here http://sites.google.com/site/completesg/

currently there is no way to play gc games from usb for a reason thats already been mentioned. the usb ports are disabled in GC mode.

Keep it classy guys, no flaming/bickering, and more than anything else, no need to be rude
