thanks guys, i am definitely steering clear of 3rd party controllers now. =)

now where would be a good place to buy nintendo ones? and possibly wavebird?
I don't usually recommend Wal-Mart, but they seem to have a lot of wavebirds.

I bought a wavebird off amazon.com
I love it. Plug in the little sensor to the controller port and turn it on. (yeah it has an on off switch which is great)

The sensor (and wii) is actually behind my TV and that doesn't effect the signal at all.

man gamecube controllers are so expensive. for a pair of the new white controlelrs that has 10 ft cable it'll cost $55 on ebay. sigh.

maybe i'll just look for cheap classic controllers instead.

Yeah, I'm surprised too.
It's just too much money IMHO

And does anyone know if a Japanese GC controller will work on my PAL Wii?

i'm pretty sure that gc controllers are like wii remotes, as in they can be used on all consoles regardless of region...
