Hardware Gamecube controllers with any Nintendo Switch game?

Hello, I would like to use a gamecube controller with games like mario odyssey. As far as I know does that work, but the face-buttons are arranged in a weird way. Is there a way to rotate the button mapping so that the left button on the gamecube controller (B) maps to the left button on the Pro controller (Y) in order to be able to throw the cap comfortably?

Yes it will work as wired pro controllers. You won't allow to remap the default button layout. Wait for custom sys module or so.

Not yet ( for the button remapping), maybe soon. Would be a nice feature. Otherwise it would work as a regular controller just fine.

Gamecube controllers work with many switch games... however they lack a zl, - (select), home, capture, l3 stick button, r3 stick button, gyro, and hd rumble. So if a game needs any of those it will not work. Also won't work with games like Super Mario Party that require the use of a joy con.
