I recently modded a GBC to have an IPS screen, I haven't touched an original gameboy in years so I was pretty shocked how mediocre the Buttons feel. In particular the DPAD. Is there a mod or something you can do to make the more sensitive, All the directions work but right is a little finicky, it needs about 20% extra pressure vs all the other directions to work, the B button is also about 20% less responsive then the A button. The B button needs more pressure to work.

you could probably mod some tack switches onto the board and shave down the buttons to a specific height, you could add minimal travel that way and have them all feel best for you, but saying that it would require quite a bit of work, maybe need some custom 3d printed buttons so the pegs on the A and B button still fit in their homes

Have you made sure that the contacts on the mainboard and the conductive pads on the rubber membrane are properly clean? Or replaced the membranes entirely? Needing extra pressure is typically an indication that there's some kind of barrier preventing good contact there.
