Gaming Game won't load off external HDD only on internal

I have a PS4 pro with the 2tb ps4 edition Seagate,. I got so confused when I tried running mass effect Andromeda off my external HDD, it kept saying it was corrupted whenever I tried installing from the disc, gave up for a while then installed it on internal and it ran.
I was just wondering if there are other games that behave this way, was it from using physical with the external HDD or something else.

Have you checked the drive e.g. Seatools?

Everything else runs flawlessly just not Mass effect, I have 98 other games that work with it. Also this is a legit system. I just run it offline after updating.

I just googled about and others have had similar issues with ME:A, the solution: install it to internal.

Thanks, that was my guess, like I said works fine internal, I was just wondering if anyone had problems with other games.
