Hacking Game Genie codes and nes roms

I have recently discovered the cccgp utility to apply gg codes to nes roms. I've found only that half the roms actually work. For example, I can get MegaMan2 to work but the other 5 MM games I can't get to work. Anyone else have more consistent luck?
