Can anyone confirm this for me? I was pretty much told by many that although eShop games may require updates from one Switch firmware to the next that official games (not sure if that means Nintendo released only) do not. Ever since I accidentally updated to 6.0 (with my OS SX booted) I can not run the game unless I update. Or at least it says that and I'm banned form Nintendo servers. For example Sonic forces will not run on 6.0, asking for an update.

If this is in fact true, is there an NRO (homebru) way to update games?

reading up on this a bit. So the goal is to connect to a computer (guessing ABD like mode). If I already have os sx can I do this via SD payload of some kind?

EDIT: OK I may have read this wrong. From what I understand you're trying to run older versions of the games on the newer 6.0?

What others have said, you need to track down the latest NSP update for the game. You don't actually REQUIRE Tinfoil to install the updates either (Tinfoil is recommended if you're on a lower firmware and want to install a 6.0 game without nagging you), just install the update NSPs like a normal NSP game in SX OS and you'll be good to go!
