I have a 4.4 3ds with 4.4 but it sometimes prompts to update.
will the update go away if I update it to FW 4.5 using the animal crossing game? or will it update to the latest firmware? or will it update to 4.5 but still ask to update??

thnaks for the help

I don't know the answer to your question, but you can get rid of the update prompt by formatting your system memory.

Don't format anything. The update downloaded to your system contains the latest firmware (6.3), but it's impossible to accidentally update unless someone else maliciously does it for you.

You may want to consider creating an emuNAND partition to safety update to 6.3 on it.

Yup, i have same issue on 4.4, even if you use 4.5 game to update, prompt will never go away as its cache the newest version, good thing is though when you do the EmuNAND you wont need internet access to update it as its already on NAND

There is an update downloaded on your system, and the version is 6.3.

We're assuming you want to use Gateway/R4i Gold Deluxe/3DS Link, correct? So you don't want to update.

Sadly, there is no way to remove the update apart from deleting on the SD Card. And even then, it'll redownload anyway.

The best way to ensure no-one will update is to set parental restrictions - this will ask for a password when updating so it can't be done accidently. They can be found in settings.

Thanks for the help guys!
Guess I'll format then. I only will lose the plant vs zombies game.

You can redownload it using emunand. But you will lose your save file.
(I recommend making emunand AFTER formatting your system memory.)

i am in 4.4, if i update with animal crossing the sistem will be updated to 4.5 regardless if the update 6.3 is downloaded?
i mean the system will not check for a downloaded update and apply that one?

If you want to update to 4.5 with a retail game, turn off the wifi or it will update to 7.0.

The update is into the cartridge.

You mean you downloaded the update 6.3 in sleep mode and haven't installed it?

My 3ds says that there is and update downloaded and it can be applied without an internet connection.
i turned of the wireless before 7.0 came out.

i need to be sure that if i update with animal crossing the 4.5 update in the cartridge will be used and not the one that is downloaded already.

And in the case that the update used is the one downloaded, this download is stored in the SD card or in the system storage?, so maybe i could just take out the SD card to avoid the update.

the download is stored in system so you can't just take it out. i suggest you don't bother updating to 4.5 just stick with 4.4 and press cancel daily when prompted

the thing is that i want to buy animal crossing.
i will try to get a DS flashcard to use emunand to play animal crossing then.

Hold on... Didn't they remove that functionality in 4.1?
