I think both you and zantiago make pretty valid points watchman. While i totally agree with you on the fact that the 3ds should have had the 2nd pad at launch, i was honestly totally fine with my 3ds at lauch. Zantiago stated that the cpp was first released in japan for monster hunter which is true. Honestly, i dont think we would have much of a problem with this 2nd circle pad, if the cpp was never developed in the first place. People didnt start actually complaining about the circle pad until that cpp was developed (minus the few people that were true to wanting the full experience of a game and wanted it there in the first place.)

EDIT: But emigres point kills both of your arguments :P

I'm not going to quote that wall since I cant snip, but you misunderstood my point. I was trying to imply that the major reason we even have a CPP is because of Capcom. Not that Nintendo was trying to say anything at all. Hell, without Capcom support that's enough to kill a console on the spot. And the XL is completely different. The only thing people like more then small handhelds are huge screens. Now if Nintendo released a 3DS with a second pad that was as big as a normao 3DS but cost even 20$ more it would fail horribly. Also, I personally thing Ubisoft cancelled the 3DS AC more due to the consoles power then something as stupid as a second stick (AC barely even USES it.) and I'm pretty sure it was in favor of a port of AC III then Rev. I'm not trying to argue that the 3DS doesn't need one (even though I don't think it does but that's a whole nother monster) I am just saying that the CPP was more to hold on to Capcom then anything.

Fair enough XD though I should note that I was irritated at only 1 circle pad in the beginning.
As was i when i saw the 3ds and the upcoming vita. Other people actually were pretty ok with their 3ds until the cpp came out, cuz like stated, it was a slap in the face to some and to others it was like "uhhh... coulda been there before?" I didnt really think either way though. I was so used to dpad and stylus on metroid prime hunters, it doesnt bother me using that control scheme, the slide pad makes it easier.

I actually prefer stylus aiming to dual analog aiming in shooters. I just don't like the fact that doing so eliminates the use of 4 or 5 buttons since one of your hands is completely devoted to the stylus.

Stylus aiming lets you flick to targets so much faster, and spin around faster. Unless of course they had a sensitivity option like in most fps games, but i havnt seen an option for that for games using cpp.
