Does this channel let you save ROMs/savefiles to the Wii's internal memory? If not, I don't really see the point...

Ok, this better not end up as a "paradox hogs all the resources to make custom _____" for weeks until someone else releases the info. Someone wanna help everyone else make custom sounds? I'm really getting tired of this "uber secret wii hacks" shit. Hacking is supposed to be a community thing, not a "hey this one guy can do it and no one else can" bullshit. I don't want to hear any "oh you could brick your wii so I won't release the tools" blah blah crap. If we know it's gonna brick our Wii, let us deal with that, jesus.

I agree, and its really getting old especially seeing tons of topics asking how to do the same thing over and over again, and if one douchebag would release the information everyone would be happy.

exact, and beside sound, there is nothing new with this channel (lol, LZ77 is just already used in most channels, there is nothing special about that)

sound format is fully described on wiibrew and you can use a WAV file to pack into the U8 archive (sound.bin) pretty like you packed your .tpl file, there is no mystery about that one too

the only complicate thing is animated pictures (.brlan, brlyt) but this has also been fully described by marcan, easy-to-use tools aren't just out yet (i think)

=/ I'm going to get olded or flamed, BUT OH WELL:

Does this leave any information on the Wii message board (Play time, name)?

I think I read this for the homebrew channel (it leaves information behind), but does this do it as well?

The tool I use to convert sounds is called DSPADPCM, from the REVOLUTION SDK.
It converts WAV(16-bit, Mono) files into .DSP. From that file, you copy the data onto a BNS file, change the sample rate and length of th track, and there you have it.

Or, as it's been said, just use WAV(RIFF) files with the normal IMD5(the same one we use for all the *.bin from the banner) header added to it.

PD: The sound file can be found in my latest BETA3 of the tools I'm making, and is packed into the banner everytime you use it.
PD2: I don't give much info, not because of bricks(everyone is responsible for what they do), but for the difficulty there is in making all these things. It's true that in the last weeks lot's of tools have appeared thet make things easier, but sound tools still haven't, and so, it's difficult to make sound files properly.

Hmmm, I still think it's too complicated for me to bother sitting down and making my own channels, so I'll just have to wait until we have rather more simple tools. Not hurrying you, just stating my thoughts btw.

Also, good job so far.

EDIT:
Oh, and does anyone know whether conversion of VC SNES saves to SNES9x emulator saves is possible? Or am I wasting my time bothering?

of course. all of them do. the firmware does that, nothing the channel can influence.

save the blocks on your wii for vc, dont clutter it up with emulators. the homebrew channel works just fine with VBA, no need for a channel. if you want, could always make it yourself

When is someone going to make a VBA Channel?!?!

Okay... here we go for the noob question : What is VBA? As a programmer it rings a bell as the same langage used to program macros, but what does it stand for for the wii?
