Official Wii Key Modchip w/Solderless Clip (Pre-Soldered) is this a good one. It said If you are the owner of an older Wii DMS, D2A or D2B console, this solderless WiiKey Modchip is really the easiest way to install a chip without ever having to touch a soldering Iron.
In wii drive chip database this is what it said
* There is a 50% chance the chipset is GC2-DMS.
* And there is also a 25% chance the chipset is GC2R-D2A.
* Lastly, a 25% chance the chipset is GC2-D2B (no cut pins or missing pad).

Yea... but it really sounds like he may have installed PAL region system menu to your wii and that's why it bricks.... because I know that is what it looks like when the 2 counteract with each other...what I mean by the "2" the console region setting and the system menu region wad... This kind of happened to me with Preloader when that was first thrown out there...luckily there was a safety net for me... I am afraid for you to be able to fix yours is a modchip Buby... (damn that name sounds so redneck..haha)

Anyways...thats my 2 cents worth about your stituation !

sorry that i sound like i a stupid redneck but i was born in new york but raised in Puerto Rico so english not so good sorry

Yea, but basic english is, when you ask a question always put a question mark on the end, not a full stop (that's what it's called here, the dot thing ->.)

pick up wiikey if you have an old drive, its cheap and works well if you gotta new one i reccomend wiikey2, just picked one up and it works great can be pricy though

Yeah, that'll work on you Wii since looks like you definitely have an older chipset. A better chip for the old drives would be solderless Yowii or free-clip flashed with YAOSM.

Either way, they're all pretty cheap and will work with your drive.

i checked around for mod-chips, for a good one is about $80 to $100 with shipping. then i called the big N and they told me to repair it or replace it, its $83 with shipping so off to the big N it is.

lol where did you check for chips? They're way cheaper than 80 to 100 even with shipping.
