Majora's Mask will not run on Gateway. I have 4.2.0 sysnand and 9.5 emunand. Every time I click on it (this includes both .3ds and .cia) it just stays in a black screen completely frozen to the point where only a hard reset can fix it. I have downloaded many versions of it, yet all fail. Any reasons?

PS: I don't see the regular skullkid circle animation on the bottom right corner as if it were charging. It goes directly from the Nintendo 3DS logo, to black screen.

Update 1: Fixed it, it worked. Had to unlink NANDs.
Update 2: Ran once, but tried it again, and had the same problem.
Update 3: Formatted emunand once again, but from 4.2, (last emunand was made from 9.2) and everything is working perfectly.

One solution posted earlier was to upgrade your sysnand, create an emunand from that upgraded sysnand and play MM on that. Then you can downgrade again if you like. I don't know what the cause is or why that is supposed to work where normal emunand doesn't.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
