Hacking Freethewads issues

OK, so I torrented some wads. I installed them, and it turns out about 20 of them (The NES and SNES ones) are region free, as I get the message that the channel cannot be loaded. However, I followed all the freethewads directions, but I always get the error "Cannot open file freethewads"

ANy help?

But seriously, I heard StartPatch can help in this case, though I never used it.
