looks at Pokemon Prism DMCA

Uh... not so sure on that.

customization vs. what amounts to a completely new pokemon game that necessitates piracy

edit: But I agree with you that they probably aren't happy about any of it, just saying not the best example

In fact... For now we don't know if it is REALLY Nintendo... If they pull down some other repo OK. (take it easy I'll try to reup hem like frees hop ;)) But seriously....

Ironically, nothing stays gone for long even under cease and desist. There are so many places to host servers for websites that people would one have a really hard time pinging if it's jumping around (Deepweb anyone?) not to mention, certain places that can host these servers are not under jurisdiction of places with DMCA/Copyright laws so it's moot. This is the same tango we've seen a million times before, especially when it comes to torrents. How many times have those URLs swapped servers because of the same thing. America only works in America, trust me Nintendo can never full eradicate piracy. Period. All they can do is make it a chore to host the files where they can't be touched.

Also, I think it's extremely ignorant to think Nintendo doesn't already know about CIA angel, things some of you claim YouTubers expose etc etc. I would bet a million dollars they have accounts here, chaos, THAT site etc. The problem is they need empirical evidence of copyright and someone to link it to. If said site is hosted in a country where DMCA/copyright laws do not exist, Nintendo can't tell them to stop because it's not illegal. I don't pretend to be an expert but torrent sites only get taken down temporarily by like the International FBI before they pop up on another server somewhere else in 3 days. Then they have to do the same thing all over again, and some sites/people are REALLY good at hiding their identity online. It was and always will be a witch hunt when it comes to piracy. All they can do is stop it when it crops up, they can't stop it from copping over a million times in a million different places.

Is this the reason why my freeshop has been crashing every time I click on download icon? Has been happening since last 3 days or so.

No. Mine works just fine, after reading this thread I tested it on a game and worked just fine. I'd suggest reinstalling it.
