Ironically, nothing stays gone for long even under cease and desist. There are so many places to host servers for websites that people would one have a really hard time pinging if it's jumping around (Deepweb anyone?) not to mention, certain places that can host these servers are not under jurisdiction of places with DMCA/Copyright laws so it's moot. This is the same tango we've seen a million times before, especially when it comes to torrents. How many times have those URLs swapped servers because of the same thing. America only works in America, trust me Nintendo can never full eradicate piracy. Period. All they can do is make it a chore to host the files where they can't be touched.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Also, I think it's extremely ignorant to think Nintendo doesn't already know about CIA angel, things some of you claim YouTubers expose etc etc. I would bet a million dollars they have accounts here, chaos, THAT site etc. The problem is they need empirical evidence of copyright and someone to link it to. If said site is hosted in a country where DMCA/copyright laws do not exist, Nintendo can't tell them to stop because it's not illegal. I don't pretend to be an expert but torrent sites only get taken down temporarily by like the International FBI before they pop up on another server somewhere else in 3 days. Then they have to do the same thing all over again, and some sites/people are REALLY good at hiding their identity online. It was and always will be a witch hunt when it comes to piracy. All they can do is stop it when it crops up, they can't stop it from copping over a million times in a million different places.

Indeed, companies always use DMCA to remove contents because it's certainly the most "hard" law on copyright and allows for really stupid things (let's DMCA someone who names his child Mario) But the world isn't entirely American. Here in France, DMCA, copyright in general, as well as the © symbol, have absolutely no value (legally) and are replaced by our custom "droit d'auteur" (author right), which is somewhat less strict and mostly guarantees the author's right on the product. And of course I'm not talking about countries like Russia... (Where are hosted all these paradise/iso/roms/chaos sites etc. ? :p )

I kinda lol'd when it read "the -snip- site". Honestly though, I get we're not supposed to talk about "that iso site", but who at this point does not know the actual name of it, what's the point in obscuring it at that point?

Considering that a lgtfy (LetMeGoogleThatForYou) link mentioning or pointing to warez is against the rules, i wouldn't rule it out or risk a warning/ban because of it.

So yeah, even if it's something as obvious as Harry Potter's main antagonist, play it safe.

I think, going forward, I'll just refer to it as "dat lord voldemort site", for sh*ts and giggles.

How to compile? :P
You actually need devkitarm with devkitpro, and all those lib throught cpp3ds and 3ds_portlibs:
cpp3ds-window cpp3ds-network cpp3ds-graphics cpp3ds-audio cpp3ds-system citro3d ctru freetype png z vorbisidec ogg archive

Actually have some problem compiling cpp3ds for freeshop....

It say:
[ 0%] Compiling shader default_shader.vsh
make[2]: NIHSTRO_AS-NOTFOUND: Command not found

Does it's possible to use picasso instead? (I have also some problem compiling nihstro...)

I'd advise anyone to just use tikdevil or ciangel do inject tickets and then download stuff from the eShop for now if you can't use FreeShop. I was banned, but injecting a blank NNID lets me access the eShop again and pirate from there.

Soooo, cruel... are you going to dispute/fight back or just say fuck you to github and host it another place(I aint forking it again, I was stressed as shit until GitHub support removed it)
Can't really afford to combat it or I would.

I'll just have to let someone else host builds, and I'm discussing it with others. I don't mind continuing to contribute to the source though.

Wouldn't it be better if FreeShop came back with a new logo and under a different name?

he probably just want to avoid kicking the bees nest, honestly in his position I doubt many of us would want to go toe to toe with ninty even on lesser issues, as it stands free shop skirts close to the firey edge, he is probably happy is was just a dmca takedown :)
