son of a bitch. Im too damn busy to code my projects...dashboard was my first major project that was succeeded by crediar's preloader a few months after...now im nearly complete with Prelude, my entire system menu replacement from the ground up, and crediar's about to release Freedom. i guess great minds do think alike hehe.

ah well. for those of you wondering i discontinued cSM to just write one from the ground up. greets and grats to crediar. always good work. maybe i'll just give him my code, as we dont need more than one complete menu replacement.

tried freedom out. it's not so bad. i can see where it'll be awesome after the kinks are worked out. lol maybe a few new skins. ;x i agree with wiicrazy though, i don't see why this can't just be loaded as homebrew rather than a full system menu replacement. usb loader didnt' work for me either. i see a lot of others had the same prob.

put a gamedisk in your wii than your wii dont freeze if you want to load a game from hdd (it doesnt matter which game is in your wii)

Just tried out Freedom. It's too limited right now... I couldn't even figure out how to launch channels in it!

Looks promising, though.

I installed the menu and it looks good for a start but I think I will wait for the next release.

I uninstalled it using Firmware Downgrader v1.11 ( Waninkoko ) going to 4.0u.

It wasn't freedom's fault, though, I think he was trying to uninstall it and did something stupid.

How easy would it be to clone the message board and WiiConnect24? Is it simply SMTP or is there more stuff going on? This would also break some of the other interactive stuff sending messages via Animal X-ing and future games with similar features, correct?

I think that would still work, since the system menu doesn't actually run in the background while playing games.
