Nope, no Wii message board.

Complete dealbreaker then, can't live without the message board.

How easy would it be to clone the message board and WiiConnect24? Is it simply SMTP or is there more stuff going on?

No idea

This would also break some of the other interactive stuff sending messages via Animal X-ing and future games with similar features, correct?

I think that would still work, since the system menu doesn't actually run in the background while playing games.

Hmmmm.....I'm seriously considering Animal X-ing with my mistress. I thought you could send messages via the Post Office in the game then the WiiConnect24 would make your slot flashy letting you know you had a secret message from a secret lover in a secret land awaiting you via the Message Board. Anyone else doing this out there?

Seriously though, for something that ditches the SysMenu completely to fill it's shoes it should include that functionality. Just my thoughts. Some people will use it for their mistresses.Others use it in tutorial/hack youtube videos as narrative, notes to self, I've added a personal email and send myself reminders for shit when I get home. The blue light is so annoying I have to at least open the message, doesn't mean I take care of the task though. On the other side of the coin it seems no one else gives a rats ass because I'm the only one who brought it up.

.

I understand Crediar wants to get rid of the system menu for the sake of doing it, why else would he do it? It'd be cooler if he did this under Mini and found a way to integrate Mini with the IOSes and Freedom (defeats the point/purpose of Mini??). I am impressed; he does nice work but maybe he'll stumble upon this and see the message board concern, someone may whisper in his ear and it will be included in future version, or maybe the idea will inspire someone else with talent to take it on. ****message board functionality, message board functionality, message board functionality, message board ****

EDIT: An afterthought.....A noob may cry after realizing their Message Board was murdered by Freedom

Yeah, I agree that this is still missing a lot of important features. Another thing I noticed is you can't scan for and connect to wireless networks. So if you have wifi, you'll have to set it up before installing freedom.

I was thinking something similar. Freedom is almost like a semibrick in it's current form. I.E. You can not access any of the Wii Settings once installed unless you reinstall the SystemMenu can you? I have hopes for this but I think it's too early to be so critical. I appreciate the sneak peek, I'll consider this like the framework of a new home construction. I've not installed it yet I'm too lazy today, maybe this weekend I'll check it out...unless he has a newer version by then. Since DVDx no longer needs to be uninstalled I'm sure more people have installed it this time I bet he's getting plenty of feedback regarding wishlist items and the UI.

Wouldve been better like preloader, with options to autoboot as well.

500 posts of beegee saying its fake, 500more of him saying he wont try it, then he starts asking if it bricks, All of a sudden it couldve been better..........................................................................
........................

actually I was asking if it was fake due to the radical changes and comment on his site concerning a brick.

It actually can change most of the Wii settings.

Here's the settings menu:
Aspect Ratio
System Language
Wiimote sensitivity
Sound mode
Europe 60Hz
Progressive scan
Screensaver
Sensorbar position
Wiimote rumble
Wiimote speaker volume
Console area
Console game
Console video

QUOTEI think it's too early to be so critical
Yeah, I agree
I'm sure Crediar will fix some of these issues in the final release

k, my freedom wishlist (just ignore):
-internet settings
-display date/time
-show how many blocks are used/free
-progress bar for wad and save import/export
-marcan hunt

Do all features work with this lol?

It's still missing some features, but it's not finished yet.

Some of the things I've noticed:
-Doesn't display date/time and can't configure date/time in settings
-Doesn't display free blocks
-Can't import or delete saves
-Can't delete channels
-Can't configure internet settings
-Can't access message board
-Can't run channels from SD
