free wifi locations and piracy

hi i was at my local cafe and i was wondering how do these places detect you for downloading illegal files and if they do how do they stop u or can they get you in trouble for doing such things on their wifi ?

they can prob monitor your traffic and just cut you off if you're leeching too damn much

it usually goes to the 'owner' of the wifi AP. They can then start looking at their logs to see WHAT connected, and what data was input/sent/received. They can then block your device's MAC address from their network. OR, they can grab whatever information you put in to nab you/spam you with letters
