Yes,indeed. You had a dvd version, a CD version and a floppy disk version that shipped with about 5000 disks. Luckily, you only had to install it once. :creep:

(it had no floppy disk version. But indeed : auto saves weren't invented yet. So you better stayed alive if you didn't want to redo everything)

i hate autosaves

as long as you can do both i dont mind, but if its only autosaves, thats not good at all
Mostly in games where it's possible to block off options permanently. You mess up, it autosaves, you're outta luck.
Games like Just Cause? Not a problem. Unless you like losing progress.

It would be nice if you could save manually no matter where you are. That way, if the mouse stops working on the other side of Los Santos, you don't have to lose a half hour of progress.

Didn't Steam just have a sale when they made Everything 33% off? That's a pretty bold move on Epic's part. Question is, how will all of the devs that put their stuff on the store profit now?

I believe epic pays them beforehand or for every free game that is added to someone's library. That is my theory, it might be wrong.

Erm...that seems unlikely to me. If that turns out to be true, a whole army of epic haters will create zombie accounts in the hope to drive epic bankrupt. And that goes for developers as well: they can just get paid by creating accounts to claim their own free version of the game they "sell" to epic. :P

If you ask me, it's more likely that epic pays a fixed sum for it, to which developers agree as it'll increase their reputation and game brand.

Yeah, you're right. It would be very easy to make them lose lots of money if that were the case.
