Pretty sure people know of the rainbow six series but some of the older ones are free. The next one plays like a resident evil or a silent hill game. Its the older blair witch games on the PC. They are free to get as well.

i don't think stuff from those sites count here

If you like freeware retro anime games from peroid of '90 '00 there's a list, however with no actual links... you need to dig it up.
Probably everyone know this site but anyway...

Azutama is interesting, snow battle simulator mixed with Battle City concept based on Azumanga Daioh, nice for winter time.
Skuld bug exterminator is also nice action freeware PC game made by Banpresto.
Also bunch of Compile demos form the pc98/win95 peroid. (some of them can't run on current windows, but you can via VM or DXWnd, issues due to some differences on directX versions like mouseHook arguments can be fixable there)

Ehh, yea but it stills free. :) I've known about the site for a while now and they have some fun games on there. Haven't had the chance to play it yet but the new delta force game is free. Not sure if this was posted before if so my bad.

Could be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure those sites are against the rules (warez).

Its against the forum's rules and guidelines. See the "Terms and rules" link at the bottom of the page.

Only rarely are old games available for free with the full blessing of the publisher/developer. See Unreal and Unreal Tournament being released for free on Internet Archive with Epic's blessing.

“We can confirm that Unreal and Unreal Tournament are available on Archive.org and people are free to independently link to and play these versions,” an Epic spokesperson told Polygon.

Happy New Year!

The game Burntime Remastered is available on Steam for free:

[Burntime Remastered] is a remaster and expansion of Max Design's post-apocalyptic strategy game 'Burntime' from 1993. It includes improvements like doubled resolution and wide screen support...

This remaster was done by a super fan of the original game. It was only possible thanks to the ok by the creators, and the many issue feedback by fellow fans.

It is fully reprogrammed from scratch using the original graphics and sounds.
