Hardware For those of you who still burn DVD back-ups...

Long story short I'm fresh out of DVDs after burning some Wii discs. What are your recommended brands for blank DVD media? I'm particularly interested in anything that can be picked up at a major retail chain like Best Buy, etc. But if not I'll also accept anything that can be ordered online (I've tried Taiyo Yuden 8x DVD-R, good stuff). I'm just curious if there's a brand I can pick up in-store anytime, as opposed to waiting several days by mail.

I also burn PS2 games on rare occasions so there's that, if it matters any.

Verbatim/ Sony/ TDK and Taiyo Yuden are generally considered the best types of dics to burn back ups with.

I have spindles of TDK that have worked for both PS2 and Wii... Pretty sure that you could grab them at a Staples (Office Depot) or Costco.

Thats what I always use. Verbatim is my go to for everything. 360 and Wii now and was for PS2 back in the day. Also use the CDs for Dreamcast even though its not that picky.

Picked up some Verbatim over at Best Buy earlier (16x DVD-R). Burning a game with Nero Express. I find it odd that the highest speed I can burn at is 4x (although that's the speed I burn all my games and they've worked great so far, however those were max 8x).

I, for one, prefer Sony DVD+R's, they work great, i write at x12 speed, have burned tons of games, no problems whatsoever.

I seriously just use some Memorex DVD-Rs. They work fine for me so far.

taiyo yuden is the best so far.. now i'm using imation, no problem whatsoever.
