What memory card did you use? The only one I have is a Patriot micro-SD 1 gb, and whenever I try to install BootMii it gives me an error.

Does the exploit work fine, and can you install the homebrew channel OK, or does none of that work either?

I can install the HBC just fine, but BootMii gives me an error, and if I launch it from the HBC it just gives me a black screen and I have to unplug my Wii.

Is there a bootmii folder on the SD card? If not, run hackmii installer again and choose "Prepare SD Card" to create a new one.

If you have a bootmii folder already, the SD card is incompatible. Get a different SD card. I use both a Kingston 2GB MicroSD, and a 1GB Sandisk (Make sure to move the bootmii folder to your new card).

Also, you don't need to unplug your wii when it freezes. Just hold the power button down until it turns off (~5 seconds).

make sure that your micro-sd card adapter is not write protected.

if it still fails, somethings wrong with the SD card, go buy a new one, it's fairly cheap anyway even the branded ones.

I recently modded my wii using letterbomb

Best method as far as I can tell. No game needed. And besides that. since its the newest method (developed for the 4.3 menu) all of the guides are more current. My advice:
Ditch the micro sd card and adapter. You are going to want to just go ahead and buy an SD card to be dedicated permanantly to the Wii because you are going to want to install all of your homebrew apps (and certain emulator roms that won't work off of USB) onto the SD card and keep it in the wii at all times. Regular 2 GB SD cards are only $15
Any regular SD card will work great. You may have problems with SDHC cards though,, which are SD cards over 2 GB. You won't need more than 2GB anyway
Make sure you format the card to Fat32 file system

Just my $.02

If you're in the USA, you paid too much.

I use these microSDs: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820134666
4GB for $11 (two 2GB cards, plus adapter), and they're compatible with everything from Bootmii and SNEEK to emulators. Also works with my DS flashcart.

And if you want a regular 2GB SD: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1497479&CatId=2286

That's good to know
All the guides I read said that there was compatibility issues with certain apps when using non regular sd cards
