So as everyone knows, holding Select when booting a Flashme'd DS will boot normally.

What I would like is a version of flashme that does the opposite.

Since the M3/R4's passme function isn't nearly as good as the PassCard3, I would like to flash my DS and have it boot straight to Slot-2 only when Select is held down.

Think there's anyone here up to flipping that one bit in Flashme, or telling me how to decompile it so I can look at the whole thing myself?

Thanks.

That's an excellent idea. That would be pretty useful. But as I don't have an R4, i'm not sure how complicated it is to boot slot 2 devices.
Whats the problem with its passme function?

The Boot Slot-2 Function works on a very limited selection of Slot 2 cards.

It will not boot an M3 CF for example, nor will it boot an EZ-Flash2 in NDS mode.

I require this functionality and thus I am looking into a modified flashme.

and no matter which solution you choose to use, email the r4 creators and ask them to improve it's passme function.

If nobody ever tells them it needs to be better, they'll leave it the way it is.

I spoke with Loopy and he said he would make the change, I'll update here when I receive the modified version.
Cool, I'm glad to hear he's still active. It took a third-party hacking his noflashme app to make it support DS Lite so I had assumed he had disappeared. Still, it would be nice if he could open his source or at least openly document his methods so that other people could take up or replicate his work. Maybe you could ask him about that.

I'm also going to chime in and say that it would be awesome to have booting default to slot-1 (or the ability to choose which defaults, based on the version of FlashMe you install). Has loopy done it yet, or are we still waiting?

Loopy, you're my hero. :-*
