I just read somewhere that certain (maybe all) passcards have really bad power consumption. I recently purchased a SC Lite + Super Key from tehcamel (who rocks), but my DSL was already flashed. I stuck the passcard in the DS to replace my Metroid Prime Hunters demo, just for the heck of it. Will this consume more power for some reason, or does flashme completely turn off the slot-1? Would it be advised to leave a commercial cart in the slot or no cart at all? I'm going for longer battery life, so keep that in mind when answering.

My understanding is that the system provides power to any cart that's inserted as long as the system is on. Even having a regular game cart inserted while using the SC will increase battery consumption. If you want to increase battery life, leave slot 1 empty.

Cool, well I guess I'll just pop the slot-1 cart up when playing, and stick it in when I'm done. It's qwirky, but hell so is the method I have to use to save GBA with this damn SC Lite.

Or you could buy dust caps made by Hori (or similar) off play-asia/renchi to cover the slot 1 hole.

I've heard that slot 2 cards can suck up to 10% more power, but slot 1 cards don't take any more power than a regular DS game.
