Homebrew Flashing textures with devkitARM examples

I recently set up all the stuff for doing homebrew on the DS. I made the .nds files with the Makefile included on several. A good few, however, aren't functioning as they should. A lot of the 3D graphic examples produce flashing colors/textures, and are just a complete mess. I've tried this with an R4 card on 2 separate DSs, and even tried it on the deSuME emulator, which all yielded the same result.

Anybody have an idea as to why this is happening? I'm guessing at some point I goofed.
