no company wants you using unofficial assesories b/c they want you to buy theirs so they get profit.
why do you think companys say to only use official batteries. Other batterys work but they say not to use them. Homebrew is the same way. it directly competes with what would be offered in the shop and other places.

i have updated my 3DS (us) and i updated my acekard 2i. It works perfectly. I had no bricking or glitches. So i think that they just putting the message to scare you.
