Its been a long while(since almost 1.5 years now) since I went away from playing DS (blame the school).
I want to return to play it, but my flash card (an old EZflash V pro) its having issues.
I want to get a new one, but there has been many thing ocurring in the scene that I dont know what to buy.
Any suggestions?
Price is not an issue. I am looking for the best compatible card (regarding games and your personal experiences). Cheat function <- MUST!!!. Not necesarry that it plays media files. And preferrably that it plays in a DSi or MAYBE a 3DS (I have a DS lite but im planning an upgrade because of wpa).

Solution
DSTWO currently has the highest compatibility (and thus low maintenance and easy to keep up-to-date). It has a variety of extra functions, including cheats (all flashcarts have cheats pretty much...at least all of the ones that are still easily purchasable...) and obviously (maybe not so obvious) can work on the DSi as well.
Another option would be the CycloDS iEvolution which had some down time as the team was developing the iEvo, but now that the team has released the iEvo, the CycloDS and CycloDS iEvo may get back to their former glory.
And of course, there is always the Acekard2i with AKAIO which has proven to be keeping up with many of the important releases. While it doesn't have the extra features that the CycloDS and Supercard...

While it doesn't have the extra features that the CycloDS and Supercard series do (RealTimeSave, RealTimeGuide, etc.), it IS still the cheapest DSi compatible flashcart with great compatibility which was just below the DSTWO (when pokemon B/W was first released), but then again it was updated shortly after and I would rather consider the two to be equal (but the AK2i costs a lot less xD).

I recommended the iEDGE it's a reliable cyclods clone, but that's a good thing as it's MUCH cheaper [$15 at shoptemp] it has a few extra features that the acekard2i doesn't have, though it's really up to you, if you want a cheap card go for iEDGE or acekard, willing to shell out the money [which I recommended you do] definitely go for the SCDS2 it is currently the best card out their, though the new cyclods has dsi support, the community behind the SCDS2 is quite big due to it being opensource so I suspect it to have dsi mode support soon [though you haven't used a ds in a year and a half so I doubt you even have a dsi

Supercard Pros:
Plays most GBA Games
Plays SNES Games
Plays a HELL of a lotta movie formats without converting to dpg e_e
Plays doom
Compatible with 3DS
Frequent updates
CPU that automatically patches anti Piracy
In game menu that allows you to make your own cheat codes/read .txt file game guides/slow down the game speed. (one of the best features of the cart in my opinion)
Can be updated to support dsi mode
Solid Build Quality (wont break)
MS-DOS Emulator (Yes... It runs windows... a very old version of windows but windows)

Cons:
Kills your battery like crazy (See attached link to increase your battery life)
Doesnt play ALL GBA games
Bottom screen doesnt show retail cart game name only file name (top screen does however)
Doesnt fit perfectly with DSi (because of added cpu) it wont break but its a snug fit
Hasnt been updated to support dsi mode

CycloDS iEvo Pros:
Has DSi mode
Can boot in both ds/dsi mode
Only "LEGAL" flashkart (it isnt flashed when shipped) so it technically is legal until you flash it.
Might work on 3DS (as its new)

CycloDS iEvo Cons:
ONLY 3ISH GAMES WORK IN DSI MODE AND THEY NEED TO BE DUMPED CORRECTLY e_e (to add what lolzed was saying if they are gonna release a DSi mode flashkart at least equip it with the tools to dump DSi enhanced roms correctly)
You need to find a clean rom of "My Cooking Coach" that is dumped PERFECTLY
Doesnt have the compatibility as the supercard has
Doesnt support GBA games (well it should < <)
Ridiculously over priced
Rushed Build Quality
The overall build quality of the CycloDS iEvolution is not what one would expect in the $50 price range. The feeling of the iEvo is heavy and solid but the misaligned shell and separation between the seams make the Flash Kit's design seem rushed in comparison to the box design, DSi-Mode ability, and software features.
"Region Locked" Atm

In other words DStwo is much better because it has the built in CPU Cyclo is gimmicky and a waste of money

@sergster
some issues with your cons on iEvo(listed by number of your cons)

1.) That's not iEvo's fault
2.)Same
3.) It has pretty good compatiblity, there are only a few games that don't run IIRC
4.)That wasn't actually advertised

The last three are legit reasons I guess(though I doubt the build quality is bad, can't vouch for this)

If you want a simple cart with the best compatibility it has to be any R4 or R4i that can run Wood firmware as this is the most updated firmware on the market.

Most expensive cart is iEvo but it is still in beta and first batch was rushed out the door so not best value. Cyclods is no longer made as the iEvo has taken over.

The cheapest is the R4 and has some of the best firmware if running Wood but will limit you to 2gb non sdhcand only works on DS or DSlite.

Supercard is a good card there are different types:

DSONEi/DSONEi Mini
SuperCard DSONE
SuperCard DSONEi(SDHC)
SuperCard TWO

Best value is DSONEi
Best cart SuperCard TWO

I like the iEdge, its the best Buget card as build quality is top notch.

But the original R4 is only a few dollars and is 99.9% compatible with the .1% being worked on all the time.
