Just got my hands on the card in pictures below:

The SDHC card inside was shot (tested with couple of readers) but I was wondering if this is something that can be used as a flashcard with substitute SDHC, or is this something built for one purpose only?

Haven't got DS available atm that could be used for doing tests, but any insights would be great!

That's just a generic flashcart clone with a custom shell and sticker slapped on it.

Nothing more, nothing less.

Thanks a lot guys. Did some further research on this based on your info. Prolly keeping this as we can't resell it anyway. I might have DS lite available although missing battery & power (thus no DS atm...) and looks like this might be just the item for that :)

The only difference to Catboys pics I noticed is missing IC (2nd flash?) , something to take into consideration, or the card just using single larger flash?

//EDIT
Also not losing much if things go south with the flashcard for some reason :rofl2:

It'll have a large NOR flash chip on the back as do most DSTTi clones. It looks like a DEMON cart so you can see if that version of YSMenu runs on it: https://sanrax.github.io/flashcart-guides/cart-guides/r4i-sdhc/#__tabbed_1_2

If that doesn't work its probably a standard DSTTi clone instead: https://sanrax.github.io/flashcart-guides/cart-guides/dstti/

The board that you've shown in the photo looks to be similar to that of the R4i Gold 3DS / R4iDSN flashcarts (particularly Rev. C). One of the major differences, is that, there's no extra SPI flash to which I suppose is meant for save backups? The NOR flash (not to be confused with SPI) stores the firmware to make the card work.

Should be compatible with the BL2CK kernel as it's identical hardware-wise. https://sanrax.github.io/flashcart-guides/cart-guides/bl2ck/

Any idea if the missing SPI could cause problems with the kernels (could prolly solder in the replacement if I can find one anyways) or is it just not needed extra?

Funny thing, the above part of your message was hidden until I quoted your post in reply. Anyways, thank you all for the insight and pointers. I guess I bite the bullet and order the missing parts for this - then see how it goes. I guess I's anyway best to boot the card without sdhc first and see what's shown on the screen anyway :)
