I'm modding my wii for the first time. I'm using the stickied thread

I got to:
QUOTE said:
Restoring the Trucha Bug, Removing Stub IOS's, Installing cIOS & Patching the System Menu IOS
Run MMM [Multi-Mod Manager]
Go down to select Install & Patch IOS36.
Choose Express Mode.
at which point my wii indicated that it needed IOS15-64-v523.wad:
Code:
Checking hashes... Wrong hash for content #2
Could not open file: sd/wad/IOS15-64-v523.wad.
Error reading IOS
ERROR: Downgrade IOS15 Failed (-1)

What does this mean (aside from the obvious: I don't have that file) and what should I do? I didn't want to just scour the internet for the file since now I am wondering if I made a mistake somewhere else along the line.

Note: I tried this once before and I think I missed the error messages because I went on to the next step:
QUOTEGo up and choose WAD manager.
Press 1 to select all the WAD's then A to install them.
and got errors with that. I went back after that to this step and got the aforementioned error.

It should be somewhere in the package you got
If not, you can get it with NUS Downloader as well

That's okay. It takes a while to familiarize yourself with the terminology and get a grasp on what it all is. Like the guide says: one word at a time.

As for your question: yes. Bootmii's most common use is of a backup program. The guide guides you to backing up your nand (that is your wii's hard drive) on an SD-card.

In case you do brick, you can usually still start either bootmii or priiloader (which can start bootmii), which allows you to restore the backup you've made.

Completely avoiding any bricks is impossible, but you'll certainly minimize the chances by following the guide.
