Maybe someday people will stop being ignorant assholes and stop flaming in threads like these, but yeah I guess that'll continue to be a dream of mine ^^
Do you guys remember what some of the tempers acorded to posts like this one? Stop posting his tweets, he is only informing his progress and nothing more. This post will be closed like the last one, it was about rom injecting on virtual console titles.

Eherm.. Why should people stop posting his tweets? I for one enjoy seeing smealums progress. He's basically showing those stuff aren't impossible. You got a point there are some people who can't stand watching but not getting his work, they can flame smea anyway they want. The purpose of these forum posts are to inform people about news of 3DS hacking. If you are not amazed with his works you can just click the "X" at the top of the tab and done.
on topic: I think this is a great step for 3DS homebrew! Waiting to see more soon!!
Then, I highly recommend you to follow him on twitter, so you will have his news right away and clean of flamers. I would like to comment this kind of news as well, but ... ya know haha, this thread will end bad, and smea needing to explain in one post the reasons for him to NOT release something for the, umm, was it the 20th time? I totally forgot.
It is software based, but only works on 4.1-4.5, he has his own version of emuNAND though, he calls it redNAND.
I personally believe that if somebody finds an exploit for FWs higher than 4.5 he'll be the one to find it
I haven't read this in depth (twiit), does someone know if this involves killing a legit app as well? or this is generated as brand new information?
Currently it "kills" a legit app
Then I can't expect Gateway to come up with this in their next update.
This homebrew channel thingy is nice but as smea seems very respectfull of the law I think he'll need to have his own SDK prior to make homebrews possible, which means we still have time to wait, especially if he's alone doing his thingy.
He's good a modding the 3ds but I think even if he seems like a good hacker it takes time to create a valuable SDK furthermore he wants his hack to be warez safe which means he'll add AP stuffs to his modification, if he's all alone doing this we can still wait a LOOONNNG time, by then interest in 3ds will have disappeared, ending up in something like the 360 libxenon which is cool but so fucking empty and uncomplete in many ways.
Imo if he wants to do the good choice for the community, once he have a way to enable homebrews compile them and easily execute those he should release it and let the community make the stuff better if he just wants to have fun with the 3ds and let people think he's the 3ds messia he wont release until his stuff is "perfect" and so on it'll be lame, too late and with very few people actually using it.
I dont see the point with preventing warez, I mean the DS flashcarts are mainly used for warez purpose even though there's a great homebrew community and many great things have been achieved outside the warez thingies and same goes for the PSP...
Also I beg for someone to hack into the bootloader so we could install a real cfw and for this to be possible the hack needs to open itself to more people...

There a publicly availbable python script that allows you to execute arm code with kernel level access, the biggest problem is that the 3DS developer Community is tiny (or maybe puny)
atm i'm killing mii maker (though i could kill any other app). obviously this is not ideal and kind of sucks; next step is figuring out how to install brand new titles. fwiw my ideal end goal is a sort of free homebrew eshop channel sort of thing. obviously there's still a lot of work to get done before that's possible but i feel like we're on the right track.
Personally, I think ignoring the 3DSes OS entirely and rolling our own Linux thing would be more productive, though higher initial effort.
You should kill the camera app. Nobody uses that thing anyway. And having using l+r to launch the homebrew channel would be coolatm i'm killing mii maker (though i could kill any other app). obviously this is not ideal and kind of sucks; next step is figuring out how to install brand new titles. fwiw my ideal end goal is a sort of free homebrew eshop channel sort of thing. obviously there's still a lot of work to get done before that's possible but i feel like we're on the right track.
