Hmm. I wonder if Ninty will make VC games compatible with the DSi. Like, d-load the VC game on the Wii, and it'll be a compatible download to the DSi. Hell, with the expanded tech inside that, they COULD put in built-in emulators as the wii is set up.

I know. Pipedream. But still, i'm curious if thats possible. *hoping, but not holding breath*

Seeing that they're going to implement a new security technology on the Wii (in Spring 2009) letting you save VC games on SD card, it might even be possible, for the lower-end VC systems. Still, IIRC, emulators on VC games are built-in along the games, so the DSi should have a method to handle them differently, like a DSi-version of the VC emulators installed on the internal memory. Then it could run the Wii VC games with that, only reading the game contents from the file.

Can't wait to see what Nintendo will do with the DSi

That's been suggested by people here time and time again. But good God, can you imagine the draw this would be if that were actually true? For everyone, playing VC games on the go would be pretty kickass. For us...imagine putting a hacked Wii and a hacked DSi together.

Unbelievable, if Nintendo were clever they announced a new Super Mario especially for the DSi! But no, it's Brain Fucking again!

What's not clever about taking one of their top selling titles, tweaking it and selling it digitally for cheaper (or free with the 1000 bonus points)?
That's a great way for them to expand their audience, and make money. >_>

Yeah, but I want to be pulled in! I think that whole DSi thing is a big disappointment. I don't want a second handheld that looks exactly like my other handheld. I don't want a "new pillar" console which technically delivers exactly the same game.

Off course I do want to WANT this thing. I own a GBA SP, a Wii and a DS Lite. When I read the Nintendo Mags everything is of interest to me. But soon they're releasing this DSi and when good stuff comes out for it it simply won't be good enough for me to buy a whole new system for. It's like being stuck in the middle. When, for example, I read about a very cool new Wario Ware game for this new DSi system that makes use of the camera, I'll be tearing my hair out, because I think it would be fantastic to play it, but then again I realize I already have practically the same system at home, BUT WITHOUT THE FUCKING CAMERA! And that's annoying, because off course the DSi will have cool, unique games released for it (they didn't call it third pillar for nothing) but they won't ever be cool enough for me to buy it.

Every second it annoys me more that the technical specs are so identical to the DS Lite. If it were to be a DS Lite with a new look and add-ons I wouldn't mind. But it's that fucking pillar that spoils all the fun.

Hmm, not a bad idea.
I always had trouble getting a copy myself.
THough it didnt help with a broken DS.

Still, they need some arcade titles stat.

Do you guys think that there will be something like the virtual console? With nice Nintendo classics and stuff?
i was going to suggest that Wii VC titles seem squarely at the older consoles. It would be a nifty turn of events if DSi VC games were game boy and GBA titles. RIP GBA slot...

If i remember right, there was a game released in japan called face training which came with a camerea which went in the gba slot. If they were to release this game in Uk and America for like £20 i think most people would buy it and in turn most people would have a camera for the new DSI games which would use the camera function, I know i would, just my thoughts!!

Edit : heres a pic of it.
