I installed the nsp on a 5.1 system without the update and it works fine, that system was banned and I was too lazy to update it and wanted to see what would happen and as it turned out it worked just fine

* Installed Base via Tinfoil over USB
* Installed Update from SD with option 'Ignore Firmware'

installed it myself by splitting the nsp and then using tinfoil and ignoring the firmware requirement. on 5.1.0

As long as you install it and remove the firmware restriction when installing with tinfoil you will be fine with the update.

Didn't you read? There at least 3 people who just said it works perfectly fine on 5.1

The update is not encrypted with 6.X keys so you can install it on 5.1 if you use Tinfoil's Bypass Required Firmware Version feature.

Why should I install the update? What does it improve? I am at 5.1.0 and Dark Souls RM Base Game is running smoothly.
