Hmm comparing a unpatched, 1.0 and 2.0 patched version of the game. There are still a couple of issues.
1st The font issue is still there but-were still trying to fix it. So be patient
2nd The Flying unit icon(right side) is gone when you change classes.
3rd Random Word issue - When you scroll over the Classes(Menu right before a chapter). you can see the worded clas...all the way on the right cut off. Then the word class is repeated again.
4th The Fire Emblem Marth can hold/cannot be removed isn't translated. Which is kind of embarrassing considering the name of the game is Fire Emblem
5th Spear that Sheeda can only hold isn't translated
6th Plain is mispelled as Plan/Some terrain isn't translated also.

-Feel free to add any more info. We will try to fix them in the next patch translation patch 3.0

4th issue..um..its an image we think and i cant find it anywhere and hence that and the magic shield havent been translated yet
5th the spear HAS been translated just for some reason its NOT showing..it was when i first tried it but now yeah

6th i can only fit plan into the space provided and the rest will be nearly impossible (try fitting house or village into a 2 character abbreviation)

This is simply amazing, thanks for the great work

Suggestion: I think it would be wiser to keep the names in Japanese, just create a legend of what characters mean what, looking at a plan rather than plain is just "plain" stupid

not that I'm complaining, I can't do anything, but rather than seeing unfinished words, it would be better to see it in Japanese, or try to use the Japanese Romanji, like Okami did, they used Japanese Romanji instead of translated Japanese, since it will look odd, and that keeps the "Japanese" feeling while playing, increasing the gaming experience.

However, I don't know the romanji of house or village, and if the romanji is actually longer, I can't offer any other suggestion

the romaji would still be longer for village..you could make house "ie" but i think village is longer..but im not 100% sure on that..also ALOT of them still wouldnt fit if you just put them into romaji like yama (mountain) wouldnt fit..high mountain (dont know the romaji but its more than 4 characters since yama is 4 characters and it is a combination of yama + takai) umi (ocean/beach) wouldnt fit which is unfortunate..although making a key or legend as you say would kinda be pointless in this case because its quite obvious what tile you are selected

First and foremost, Excellent work to date. Thank you all very much for your work.

As for the bugs, I have only played a small amount of the game at this point and believe that your list of 6 covers most of what I have seen. The Font issue being the most frustrating.

The most helpful change from my perspective would be the completion of the menus. With some menus changed and other left in Japanese, it is a little confusing and you may find yourself guessing what to do a various points. I know that the "Help text" has been translated and can be used, but it would be nice to have the rest of the menu system.

Again thanks for the great work and I look forward to any further patches.

i KEEP freezing. first battle. first stage. after minutes of dialog and stuff only to get stopped everytime.

2.0 patch. Clean, untrimmed rom. Supercard Lite.

Damn leechers. >:(

I back-up StarShadow's comments on the menus and I think if possible, you should change "St" to "Str", and I think the same thing applies to skill, but in any case, it will make it look a ton better and more like the other Fire Emblem games.

I cant believe that people are actually complaining. its so awesome that you guys are taking the time to make these translations. thanks a lot you two. please keep up the fantastic work.

I found some minor typos throughout the game. For example "Soldier" in the battle animation is actually spelt "Soldir". Dunno if any of you guys caught that or anything.

cant change St to Str unforutnately..

only 2 characters can be used :/ so St is the most appropriate in my mind right now
also some of the weapon descriptions need to be trimmed

and also..if you see a 'spelling mistake' (unless its a name of a character) e.g if its missing a letter then dont need to report it..IF it is incorrectly spelled like say the word "Weapon" might be spelt "Wapeon" tell us since it has the same amount of characters and was probably just an oversite by us :/

also, why does it matter if we get floods of feedback? im happy as long as people are using it and not complaining xD

Thanks for the work so far!

As for 400+ d/l and no comments... Well, just a thought. I have downloaded the translation seeing "73% of script is translated". Looked at the game and found that there is no script translation at all (!). Since I've never played original game on snes, I decided to wait for the englisch release (or for real script translation).

So, maybe just add more correct patch definition, like "73% of script is translated on paper, but still no scripts in the game"?

Not to sound like a complete egghead, but what is the point of playing the game if there is no script to keep players interested? (for the people who haven't played the original)

Uhh, the gameplay? If that didn't matter, people would just read books.

ahah u guys must love the countless battles

Of course theres character development and so forth as well....i think i just convinced myself to play it without the script

Well, I looked at the text myself and I have to agree. It also seems like some errors are caused by you not having enough space-- I could fix some of them up for you, but... IMO it would be best if we could do something like "expand text". How does the game know where the text for the strength stat is? If there is something like a pointer, worst come to worst, you could just repoint text (the game has 6+ MB of space at the end made of FF's anyway) then there would be no limits for text.

Also, how does the text end? Does it need 0x00 as the nullifying byte, 0x20, or what? Nonetheless the only solution I can think of is the above one and would allow for more space, o'course.

Lastly, is there a way to view the japanese characters in a hex editor? Looking through like the system text, I think I see some untranslated japanese text, but I don't know how I would tell what is what, so how do you do that? Just experimenting? >.>

Sorry for asking so many questions, but this is my first time translating a game. Eventually, somebody should just make a list of what each folder's files are/have so I can finally hack the starting classes and inventories of units once it comes out in English (I doubt there will be much difference between the Japanese game and the English, minus the text.)

Oh, and thanks, Nehe32/Noitora~

And, why does the name for Marth is "M" and that other girl "S"? Only 1 char?

Ummm.. and another thing, why does the tutorial told me to "see above"
biggrin.gif
? did you change it on purpose or it really is like that?

Umm I believe the tutorial part where it says see above refers to the top screen. The top screen usually shows instructions like how to move a character, attack, item usage, trade, etc...

You kind of do sound like a complete egghead if you keep complaining. You've made many posts complaining in a nice way about the script. Examples...
-So how much of Demo patch 2 is actually done in comparison to the list of things
-How come its not back in the rom if u dont mind me asking.
-and the quote above.

Also if you seriously wanted the script that bad just look for it on the 1st Fire Emblem Game for NES or the 3rd one off some sites like Gamefaqs, Serenesforest.net/fe1ds or something. Jeez don't ask for something and expect it to be on a silver platter for you. You have to do some work yourself.
