i know around here there are places that will give you a paycheck advance. you could try to find one of those there in Canada.

Yeah I too am wishing you the best. Just keep your head down and work hard; it'll sort itself out in the end.

Salaam 'Alaykoum

'Alaykoum as-salaam brother. And BTW modshroom, what you said was not nice. I'm in a tough spot right now, and all you can do is show off how lucky you are.

What kind of company do you work for? If the landlord gives u crap maybe u cud try asking ur boss...i know it seems bad but maybe he'll help you out.

I don't work for a company as of now.

It's a factory that gives me $9.5 an hour. Really good pay for a factory. They specified about not giving advance, however the landlord can give the boss a call to make sure that I will pay. Thanks for the advice though.

What goes around comes around.

And we've all been there. Around August of last year, I was waiting for my new job to start, between apartments (so, homeless for about 4 days), and trying to find any internet connection I could so that I could study for a licensing test that I was taking. It was still summer, so none of my friends were around, and it was awful.

Whenever I'm in situations like that, my boss always reminds me to breathe, somehow it seems to help me.

And as far as advice on the rent this month goes, I would certainly go the route of holding off on the rent for a few weeks. Somebody already mentioned it in this thread, but even if your landlord doesn't "permit" you to pay your rent late, the process for evicting somebody from an apartment is such a big fucking pain (at least, it is here in America) that whoever owns the property is going to avoid going through it at all costs. Paying late by a couple weeks will almost certainly not be a huge issue.

You had to have just gotten paid recently, where did all that money go if you knew rent was upcoming?
Make sure your priorities are in line and manage your money better. Could look into a credit card for future backup. And if needed, Ramon noodles are the poor boys savior

i couldn't have said it better myself, budget! that's what i do every month when it's time to pay my bills! if there is any luxuries that i want but can't afford out they go! i would rather eat and have a roof over my head than be kicked out on the street just because of something you wanted!

I haven't eaten in 3 days as I ate one compressed bread I took from the army 3 days ago. 1 compressed bread (size of a cookie) = 1 loaf of bread

seriously man i've been there, i've gone without food for days and all i had to eat was just 1 slice of bread with no butter, it was a nightmare, but you know what i did? i stayed at a friends house for a while and they helped me out with food, it's kind of hard now because most of my friends have moved abroad so i'm the only one living in the UK now

but hey at least my mother is still around so she helps me out a lot, i'm 24 so i know about budgeting and paying rent, i aint no noob, i pay 583 CAD a month for my rent and on top of that i have to pay for electric, food, service charges and taxes, and then i have a expensive gaming hobby too, so yep, life is very hard!

QUOTE(Westside @ Apr 23 2007, 05:54 PM)Thanks. I will explain. For the next week I will be working my ass off, I will disappear from this board. However, in one week I will update my status and tell you guys if I'm alive or not.

Also I don't have any new underwear or socks... I will stink for a week or so. My presence will offend.

... Especially ladies who will stare at me and say "ewww...."
seriously man, try not to get into a habit of not paying rent, let this time be a one off, believe me when the arrears start increasing and you have court actions letters and bailiffs knocking on your door it ain't nice! and seriously there must be some place where you can get emergency food, like a community center or you local council, usually when i was really really desperate i went to social services and they give you food parcels, try gving them a try, you do need food so try to get some ! or if you can't get to social services try contacting friends or relatives! i'm sure they can help!

and remember no loans! and no credit cards! they will get you into more trouble than you will be able to manage! and btw if you can't afford to get your underwear and clothes washed it's time to get your soap out of your cupboards and get into that bathroom and start scrubbing those clothes! that's what i did yesterday as i couldn't afford the laundry! and being a girl myself i would say yes that does disgust me a bit that's why i said start scrubbing!

I remember that!

Ey buddy seriously good luck with this issue man. I don't know about you but get schooling bro, get a university degree or something that can get you a job where you wouldn't have to worry about paychecks. I mean you're still young and you have a lot in front of you. Even if it's hard the rewards will be greater.
