I didn't receive it yet, but I ordered it form Costco.

Does the firmware matter if you're gonna install a Wiikey 2 + Wii Clip?
I know for PSP's, firmware is the main factor if you want to mod it.

Also, what's the difference between WADs and ISO's?
If I acquire a Wii ISO, I would just burn that to a DVD, correct?
And what's the deal with "scrubbing" them?

AFAIK the firmware doesn't matter.
A wad is the file type for virtual console and wiiware. An ISO is an actual retail game file.
Yes you do burn that to a dvd to play with your wiikey.

1. As far as I know, it doesn't matter what firmware it is for modchips. I haven't heard any problems. But you can easily downgrade it to an earlier version if you like.

2. WADS and ISO's are different. ISO's are of course retail games like Mario Kart Wii, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Twilight Princess etc. Though homebrew can be made into an ISO too. WADS on the other hand are games that have been taken from the Wii Shop Channel which you can install on your Wii using Wad Manager without paying for them. WADS can also be used for homebrew purpose for channels like the Backup Launcher channel. And yes you burn ISOs to a DVD.

3. Scrubbing isn't important really, its just scrubbing of useless garbage data thats in an ISO so its easier to pack them and upload them in lesser links. That's all it is.

Hope this helps.

Nice, thanks! I'm all set, except for DVD's.
What's the best? Can I just use Sony DVD+R's?
I'll probably order some Verbatim DVD-R's to be safe.

What's better: DVD+R or DVD-R?

Since you're getting a modchip, it doesn't really matter what type of media you get, as long as it's high quality.

My Wii with Wiikey v1 loves Verbatim +R's.

I would say about 30% at the moment. You can check at wiidrives.com once you have it, but certainty will only give opening up your Wii.
