For the longest time I couldn't manage to make DS2Key work on my DSi with TWiLight Menu++. But now I did. Here's how. (You're gonna need Unlaunch)
I broadcasted a WEP connection while doing this, you may have limited success if you don't do this (even on the DSi hardware with WPA2 support, this is the case)

1. Download DS2Key r52.
2. Open DS2Key.exe, configure your key binds as you please. Hit Apply after.
3. At the bottom of the DS2Key window it might say Disconnected. If it does, go into the Settings tab and change the port to 9502, then back to 9501.
4. Copy DS2Key.nds and DS2Key.ini to your DSi's SD card.
5. With SD inserted, turn on the DSi power WHILE HOLDING A+B to get into Unlaunch
6. From here, use the file menu to find DS2Key. On the top screen the name will be garbled and unintelligible, but on the touchscreen it will say DS2Key.nds. Press A or RIGHT to open it.
Note: Your DSi will complain about being unable to read the .ini file. Ignore this.
7. Set your PC's LOCAL IP address (find it by opening cmd and typing the command "ipconfig" if you don't know it, or check your router settings)
8. Keep the port on 9501, set the profile to whatever one you set up (if it has a .p_ file, you can use it
9. Let your DSi connect on its own. When the screen goes black you're in the clear (The WiFi light will remain off, this doesn't matter)
10. On PC, X out of DS2Key. It will stay open in the system tray, so you can keep connected
11. Open Notepad and test out your key bindings
12. Enjoy?

I wanted to post this because installation instructions only ever cover DS Lites with flashcards, so this is to let you know that on DSi you'll need Unlaunch to do the dirty work

EDIT: The reason you can't just use TWiLight Menu ++ to start the app is because if you do, the app will hang on startup, not even trying to connect to WFC

There used to be somehow Acekard 2i clones and DSOne clones, but they seem to have disappeared off the site, perhaps old remaining stock that they had lying around.

Speaking of Angband, why has no one ever made Angband 3D for the 3DS?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@anotherthing, And a let down it was. I was quite fascinated when EZ-Flash announced the product, and wanted to buy it. But was let down by the reviews and the responses from people on here, hence why I avoided it like the plague, as if I really needed another one. I'm fine with what I've currently got atm. :P

    I bought one.

@anotherthing, How was it? Did it suck per usual?

    It's very not exceptional.

I was expecting it to do something more than pretty much every other card out there, and it doesn't do anything more.

Understandable. I did try to warn others about this cartridge, but they didn't listen to me or anybody else about the EZ-Flash and bought them anyways, only to realise that they wasted their money.

@anotherthing, It acts kinda the same way as an Ace3DS+ cartridge, because it uses the commonly known Wood kernel as a base.

I have three EZ Flash Omega/DEs and I really was thinking that the EZ Flash Parallel would work similar to how the Omega worked. Where it recognizes the file extension and loads that file accordingly.

  • A @ anotherthing:
To play an NES game on the EZ Flash Omega, you just toss it on the SD card and select it from the menu and it loads it in to the NES emulator.

The EZ Flash Parallel just works like every single other card I have.

My wife just got a 3DS, and I was hoping that the EZ Flash Parallel was something I wouldn't have to walk her through.

I can walk her through how to do something like loading an NES game on a $10 cartridge.

At least she has a console to play games on. :D

We've been playing Animal Crossing in the morning after I finish chores and before she heads to work.

I've never played Animal Crossing Wild World for a long time. Probably the best games on the system so far.

I hadn't played the game in about a year until she started playing it. My first day back involved a lot of weeding.

Speaking of chores, they need to be started in about six and a half hours, so I need to hit the sack.
