Hacking FINALLY!!! A Fix for The October 23d update!!!

HBC beta 9 work on last 3.3v2 firmware..installing WADs (& company) without cIOS (IOS16, IOS249 or IOS254) don't work.

IOS254 was the key..IOS16 had to be secret, i think.

Marcan create IOS254 (PatchMii) some months ago.
And this makes entirely useless IOS16 (illegal, i think) for the one that, as I, have installed it before the new Nintendo firmware.
PatchMii was the key.. that's why it had to be installed as soon as had been released.

If you didnt have any cIOS installed ... how would you have installed that after updating ?
IOS16 isnt useless and if it was people wouldnt have spoken about using it in a limited form as a last resort.

Luckily I'm downloading Guitar Hero World Tour.

you don't need Guitar Hero WT, or the wads contained on it,
unless you want to remove IOS51, which is not necessary.

doing that step re-enables anytitle deleter....which is good,
but if you want to use the shop channel, youre going to need IOS51

if you remove the real version, you can use tona's
Upgrade IOS Shop Fix app to download a fakesign-enabled copy,
which is nice, but still not necessary.

If we can install IOS16 with wadmanager, then why can't we just install the original trucha unfixed IOS's, like IOS 30 etc, and then run a wad manager version based off them?

The only reason i can think of is if u can't overwrite the patched IOS's for some reason...

I'm either missing something or this whole requiring IOS16 thing is stupid (surely it must be the former...)

I believe it is that, you can't overwrite a newer version of official IOS without the fakesign bug,
creating a catch-22.

not sure, cuz I've never had to try.

Because now all the ios don't have ANY bugs they were bifx by nintend in the las update but ios16 continue to be buged o it can be install by a "special" wadmanager.

ok so even if we can get in and downgrade the fake signing bug is still fixed?
is this why im getting an error when i try to install the ciso for the 0.3 backup loader now?

you can install any WADS that you want.

you can't run any installer apps unless you downgrade, because those apps require other official IOS to have the bug patched back into them.

i did downgrade but what i was thinking is that nintendo fixed the bug in ALL the updates/downgrade files so when i downgraded it still has the fake sign bug fix just a thought im a noob any way what do i know

IOS Downgrader v1.0 download and patch all IOS except IOS30.
But..Custom IOS Downgrader v1.2 download e NOT patch IOS30 (bug free now in Nintendo Servers).

What exploit? This is no exploit. It's a stupid omission by nintendo. Anyone can come up with it. It's a shame that PFD got leaked right now, but the damage wouldn't have been done if people who came up with the idea didn't immediately start using it for WAD piracy. What a great way of getting Nintendo's attention.

I knew this would happen, becoming a huge thread on all forums, (regarding the downgraders etc from the new 3.3)

He's right in saying about a possible new update sometime the future endeavours, which could kill all wad piracy, and bootmii was released (not to help it).

It would be a case of never ever updating your wii, all though you probably wont from now on anyway, but hey thats the jist of the idea*
As you know Nintendo are SLOW but (are/trying) cracking down on Piracy & homebrew

Its a case of He/she who dares....Wins for now, but fails sometime in the future lol.
