the ciosfix that is in djtaz signute WHIC CIOS IS? cIOS36_rev6?

In the first page it say

Finally, use Wad Manager that was recoded by Davi92 to work off of IOS16 to install the cIOS_fix (hopefully that is the filename in the included zip - djtaz correct me if I'm wrong), and you are on your way again!

so i don't get what that ciosfix is very well XD

sure, go ahead and add in the instructions.

and again, i'm sorry if this was your plan all along marcan I wasn't doing this to be selfish, I was trying to help those that got screwed out of trying the new Backup Loader by only a day I really didn't think this would be an idea of yours.

Besides, HBC found a new hidden exploit, and now they can keep it to themselves, and maybe share with more hardcore coders like you, and NOT the public. By that time, you will be able to release BootMii and no longer need workarounds like we are fishing for now.

And for anyone wondering, I am pretty sure I just rocked that chem exam so thanks for the support

djtaz can you answer what that iosfixed is please =)?

same question here

i make these steps

1) put wadmanager 1.3 in apps

2) put IOS16-64-v257-prod.wad in the folder .WAD

3) run wadmanager 1.3 and install the ios16.wad

4) take the boot.dol from wadmanagerios16 and replace it in the boot.doll from wadmanager 1.3

5) install de iosfix.wad (from djtaz signature)

Now i can instal .wads but i cannot install any CIOS i try the cios installer from backuplauncher 0.3 and the same error as before, any help?

If a person were capable and eager to build a replica of IOS16, and install it on a system with no trucha-hole, and they set out to do so, than even if a trucha-patched IOS16 were to be released by Nintendo, you would still be capable of doing exactly that (because otherwise it wouldn't be something you could do in the first place), and just assign it a new number, (or maybe even overwrite it) using patchmii-core or the newest iteration of such. The root problem that you'd overcome by doing such a task means that you wouldn't need it in the first place. Bypassing trucha to do what was done with trucha just to create trucha removes the need for trucha to begin with.

classic catch-22.

I could be off, but unless we were talkin about constructing a clone (signed, I guess) off the console itself, and installing it, than I think all that applies.

Nobody knows what the ciosfix in djtaz signature is?

it seems so, i think the ciosfix.wad is what let us install a new cios but i really don't know maybe the cios.wad is a cios.

You don't get it. We'd engineer an application capable of considering the differences between IOS16 and another IOS (the closest one) to rebuild it using none or a minor amount of data. You end up with EXACTLY IOS16, just rebuilt using 99% of code from an existing IOS. Then you slap on the original signature and it validates.

Better than just pirating it.

If you don't think that's possible, think again. We're doing the same thing for BootMii already, where if you have boot2v2 it'll upgrade you to boot2v3, without our code actually carrying any of boot2v3's code. BootMii is based on boot2v3.

...okay...different direction....
if you could do signatures (and I'm sure you can, not the question I'm asking), than why would it matter if it was IOS16 at all?
Why not just sign IOS 254, or IOS666? I'm sure if you don't already know how, you'll figure it out before too long.

Also, the "better" is questionable, all those who are still under warranty can argue they actually have entitlement to the actual IOS16, or have at one time, no?

To engineer the program to build the file incorporating differences, you'd have to have the IOS16 to compare with, via the disc, and I doubt you or any homebrewer/pirate OWN the fish disc, so how does you stealing on behalf of us down the road make it better/different/important?

I'm not harping, I don't see what you are getting at, but if you feel you've explained as best you can, then so be it.

jinx, this happened this morning, and I was there around the conception, he wasn't. he was several hours later, I was at school all day, and I had this prepared before this thread even went up....plus I credited all creators, assembled my own package, and never included one word/quote from him....but its okay, I understand the misunderstanding....

link to my post:
http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=112...t&p=1500291

and then, bottom of that page, an hour later, davi92 hit us up.
I have been keeping up on my mobiles ever since, and had my package ready hours before djtaz and pir8, but they still rule.

not to mention, I'm the one person in this entire thread who kept saying, "make sure to credit davi92 for compiling this this morning"

its nice, cuz even though he was a little late to the game, he gets to be the hero around here, and he only had this one post to get him that fame, thats cool for him.

anyways, nuff said.

Fair enough.

I've been at work all day and see the package at BC and then find this here and didn't feel like browsing. Too many people talking about bullshit on this forum anymore to find anything interesting. Sorry about the confusion.

i make all the steps i install the cios.fix BUT THE LAUNCHER 0.3 CONTINUE TO GO WRONG

I TRY INSTALLING THE CIOS36_rev5 (ok) and then the ios49 but it jumps and error

UNTIL I RUN THE IOSDOWNGRADER

ALL MY IOS RETURN TO THE OLDER VERSION AND NOW THE CIOS INSTALLER RUN GREAT AND I CAN USE THE LAUNCHER 0.3

IOSDOWNGRADER IS THE SOLUTION PEOPLE AFTER INSTALLING THE IOS16 TRY IT =)

noobwarrior7 - you are right, I knew I was forgetting one more person

I was sitting in my engineering lecture hall reading your short topic you had started, and I just went at it all day instead of studying for my chem exam

I will add your name to the beginning of the thread. Thanks a LOT for your initial research!

whoa...no thats okay, I didn't start any thread, no thanks needed...but I was commenting and following that thread....you made a good topic thatll help people man....you dont owe me anything for sure, plus you had your own links, djtaz assembled his own package, and I hosted my own package other places i roam...no toes stepped on here.

actually I do owe taz thanks, but hes so chill anyway, he is the only source I've ever gotten IOS_Fix from, and so creds to him, not that anyone gettin my pack will see creds here....but I've thanked for that before anyways.

lalala we should sing kumbayah.

PS: if youre going to credit someone with the original idea, you can credit SlowKing....I did have the idea the other day, but I'm sure he's had it for a while, and I have no proof, and don't care, and I just want us all to get along.

I also had no intention of doing anything about it, so if other people hadn't started talking about it, me thinking about it for a few seconds would have been less meaningless than it already is. :-)
