You wait months and months being drip fed information and amidst slowly building anticipation as the translation progresses. Then once the patch is FINISHED it'll possibly be play tested by some people outside the team, and then once finishing touches are added released to the masses.*

At that point your question becomes relevant. For the meantime you wait.

*Or in an alternate reality the project gets C&D'd.

Soooo. I do remmember you guys saying about unlocking the summer outfits... what about the 3rd outfit ? It looks BAD ASS !! And im guesing you can get it when u finish the game. Could you unlock those too ?

Royal costumes... I realy want thoose. And i would want to change the default ones at the get-go cuz ... well simply put i dont like em -.-"
Im weird i know xD

And this is the first time im spoiling the game for myself cuz i wanna see how the cutscenes look xD Fuc**** EPIC!!! This game will top Crissis Core for sure! and FFCC is my curent fav game. Man im being a fanboy now but i cant help it xD this game is epic

The Royal or Formal costumes get unlocked in the natural course of the game, so there's no need to hack the game to have those unlocked early.

For the Summer costumes, we'll see what we can do. Right now we're still focused on the translation.

Pretty happy that this game is finally getting translated! However, looking at Sky's updates on his site, I noticed some problems:

This font is terrible. It's too big, and that will cause problems when you get into lengthy command names, like "Blizzaga BOM" or "Platinum Rapier." Not to mention, it doesn't look good against lighter backgrounds at all:

Instead of using this weird font, why don't you guys just stick to the 8x5 pixel hard-edged font that's already been set inside the game's files? (It looks kind of similar to the NA Birth by Sleep font and Echoes of Time font):

Also, one more thing:

"Joinable" isn't a real word. It doesn't even sound real. If there's an open character slot, then just put "Open" in there. Or "vacant." Or "available." Or anything with that sort of meaning. Looking at the staff page, I'm noticing that you guys really only have one proofreader, and not even a single editor.

This translation is a work in progress. Nothing we've posted should be considered final. Thanks for the input, and we'll take it under consideration.

And just because I had to check:

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/joinable

That doesn't mean we'll stick with that word, but I was curious.

May not be final, but it's sure close to it.

It re-directs to join.

We are actually using the already included font, this one that you think is in the game's file... it's not really there, I guess this has been photo-shopped (either that, or someone edited the font file, in fact the damage number was rendered used the included font, the one we are using, that's why the damage number style does not match the HUD font).

We did reduce the width for each character yesterday, so the current look differs from that one, and from the team, we like this change. So far we haven't posted any screenshot with the new font width.

We welcome any and all criticism and suggestions.

Let me give you a little context about the image editing process. We see a mishmash of images all collected on one big image file or several big image files, kind of like a sticker sheet. So we often have little to no idea where some of these images will be seen or what they're referring to until we see them in-game. Once we do see them, we make notes and decide if the work we already did should be kept, or it needs to be changed for any number of reasons. We will make a big editing pass on the game after we're done with the translation to fix any hanging issues.

Also, it's a word. Maybe it's not the best word, but it's a word.

That was the font Truthkey pulled out before he gave up on the project. He has a mess of screenshots on his photobucket so I really doubt they were photoshopped. That said, width notwithstanding, there's till the issue of the font you're using; it's lacking a stroke - it just looks kind of bad against lighter surfaces like in that Odin screenshot. If you're gonna stick with your current one, thentry to add a single pixel stroke, or even something like a drop-shadow. Well, actually, just the stroke - you'll notice there are random loose dark pixels hanging about; one of the reasons why that font looks kind of ugly.

That said if it's okay with you can you post a screenshot with the latest one? I just wanna see what it's like. And try to go with different shades of environment textures (dark floor, light floor), so like, two screenshots lol.

We welcome any and all criticism and suggestions.
Thanks! Just so long as you know I'm not trying to be overly commanding or anything lol. It's just feedback; a bit more detailed than what's been posted in here. ;)

I'll let coredecepts post a screen with the new width (if he or anyone from the team wants XD).

As for truthkey's patch, I attach the font he used:

this is a debug font that is not supposed to be used by the game.

Now this is the actual font that the game uses (as it contains both the original Japanese characters, AND the Latin characters you will find in our screenshots):

NOTE: I'm attaching the original white alpha-scale color palette, so it will be better seen in a dark background.

There are many advantages of using the actual font, instead of the debug one. For rexample, the actual font can dynamically change colors (for example, some important texts glow in yellow or red; the battle hud is white, while NPC's dialogs are black, etc...), while the debug font will always stick the same color. The actual font can have many more characters (so only one edition could be used to localize the font to many languages), but, over all of that, the font we are using right now is the one used by the original game, and I think that would be the most powerful reason to stick with it.

On the other side, be sure we'll do our best to make it look the best possible, so thank you for your comment and suggestion:

I was actually think the same thing. At first, I only looked at the text, and was wondering why a KH BBS screenshot was in this thread, but then I was confused by the "Machina".....

I think "Available" or "Party Slot Available" would be the most appropriate option, as "open" is pretty vague in my opinion, while "vacant" is more for living-space. Though these are my opinions, it is all up to the guy(s) actually doing the work . Keep up the great work!!!

Also, "Joinable" is underlined in red, but that doesn't mean anything.....

Check this out:

It's the debug font, but it's not showing up in white (and it's lacking the stroke to boot). And again if you look at highlighted screenshot I posted, you'll notice the commands not in use are grayed out. So, basically, looks like the debug font can be dynamic as well; it too can change colors when necessary.

Here's my suggestion: Try it lol. Don't write it off completely. Apply this font, and just test it out. Compare it to your current one. Then see which one you think works best. Share some screens here, ask what others think. Stuff like that.

Yeah i think this font will work nicely. BUT is this a pic from their translation ?? Cuz i dont like the "NEXT EXP" thing. Maybe it should be Next LVL or something like that.

And also... FFvs13 is coming out in ENG...

But it look like type0... maybe just a bit... the airship design and a few character designs remind me of type0.
Since they are both using the fabula nova crystal theme, Is it posible that type 0 is before/after FFvs13 ??

HERE

Sory for spaming.....again-.....

That's not our screenshot.

NEXT EXP is in the original version of the game, and we haven't touched it. I hadn't even noticed that little bit of UI until you just now pointed it out. It can't hurt to change it, and you're right, NEXT LVL makes more sense. And it uses the same amount of space, which is always a bonus!

I'll ask our team members who handle image editing and see if they agree. Thanks for the suggestion.

really glad to see that this translation keeps getting further and further, keep up the great work guys. I'm looking forward to it!

Edit: also are you going to be releasing a patching tool so that way once it gets to a testing phase people can help test it for you w/o having to redownload gigabytes of data each time?

P.S. Having a tool to do the merging etc would be a nice thing that automates it all. Since I haven't looked at the video files yet to see how much they're recompressed if it's OK then I'm fine but as I said haven't looked into it too much, anyway keep up the amazing owrk... I'm super dissapointed that se didn't release it over here at e3... if they would've put it on the vita, it might've given me a reason to finally purchase one.

ah ok well that's good to hear then, it'd be great to help reduce the turn around time(I'd imagine) when doing updates since beta testing/patches I imagine would take awhile to get it all done. Especially teh patching stuff. Keep up the great work all of you.
