Square Enix is releasing a collector’s edition of Final Fantasy Type-0 on their e-Store. This 12,760 yen ($161) bundle
includes the PSP game, a Final Fantasy Type-0 postcard book, and the game’s soundtrack with a bonus video DVD.

A standalone copy of Final Fantasy Type-0 goes for 7,700 yen ($97). Both versions of the game ship on October 13.
Here’s the latest trailer.

Onoes, the combat system sucks. As I expected

Give me the turn-based system back! T_T

A single game going for ALMOST $100? Crazy times.

That looks freaking sweet! Why does it cost so much though?

It's that price because SE has begun charging the SE tax in Japan again, it seems.
To be fair, games like Dissidia 012 cost around 6,000 yen, which is about 77 USD. That's the standard pricing in Japan.
The normal Type-0 costs 7,700 and the special edition 12,760 yen
So it is an increase, but not *that much*.
It's like the games that launch at 59.99 USD while others do at 49.99.

Maybe me and prowler_ shouldn't bother with that thread or the FFXIII-2 one anymore. People still end up doing these threads, even though the other way saves some bandwidth for GBAtemp. (And it's also more convenient to have all information on a single spot)

I'm gonna agree with you. I myself prefer the turn-based system. I disliked the battle system in crisis core, which this is pretty much a improvement(?)on. I can't say for sure that i'm gonna dislike this one also unless i try it myself, so i'm gonna stay optimistic on this one.

I never was a fan of action games (I suck so hard at them) and I really would prefer turn-based, but this looks really interesting.

I wonder how much it would cost if it got a localization.

I hope it's like Final Fantasy this time. FFXIII was a good game, but seriously, it could have been named anything, it didn't even resemble Final Fantasy. Heck, they even got rid of the FF intro, the FF battle song intro riff, and the victory music. I just wish they'd bring some stuff back other than the spell names, Cid, Lindbulm, and a few other names.

Also, if SE's trying their hand at another ARPG, I'm in.

fuck them.
We can get our SE nerd on by ourselves.

Also IF this does get released in America/Europe.
Europe will be getting this while America is left out :3
F**k you Prowler, you and your Europe.

We got Chrono Trigger, and now we'll get this too, and you'll have to wait 13 years to get it

I was talking about Europe will get the limited edition and America will not (Square Enix Europe loves us)
Not the game itself.

FFXIII had a lot of FF references and things like that hidden.
In fact one could say it's "more" FF than FFXII for example.
But then again, what is love Final Fantasy?

Not Final Fantasy XII...you're right, there are a lot of references, but I guess it's just the post-SE games that don't feel like it to me and I think they do that on purpose to create a change of pace. But seriously, where did the victory music and main theme go? I like the theme to FFXIII, but I wish they had still kept the FF theme.

You're right, it looks awesome. But, fact is, that I do find Action RPGs incredibly dull. I'll give this a spin anyways

You didn't like The Secret of Mana?

It costs so much because it's split into 2 UMDs.

But in my books, that's no excuse. The cost of a UMD to them is barely nothing. It's probably because they put so much work into it, they said they wanted all the cutscenes on par with PS3 graphics.
