Yeah, but the space key is a royal pain, so IllJustTypeLikeThis.

I think to make sure you can message you have to go to the "moghouse" and attempt to get mail to let the server know you have added friend codes. Then you can send mail at any time.

I can send mail to people I'm sure aren't playing the game (online at that) at this very moment.
