Gaming few quick questions

Ok. So I run XM360 1.8D and it shows me dlc's (along with cashe updates) and that they are unlocked but still they are not visable in the games. Any ideas?
I will try now to get costumes or other things to try it out.

Is there a simple program to prowse xbox hdd via data cable? All I need is view edit files on hdd on it.

I never really messed with my jtagged system, so I can't help much. But theres a few questions that wasn't answered.

Since it's older xbox it doesn't have hdmi output. I used regular cable with the swith for HD tv but it looks still kind of ugly. Anyway to switch it into real hd?
As TK said use the component (three color video, 2 audio) side of the cable. I'm assuming you have this cable as there is a switch on it, but make sure to ALSO turn up your resolution in the dashboard settings.

I have not played with modio in quite some time but it was just an all in one hacking application with a few nice features for those making hacks and a few built in tools/patches for those wanting to use them. Not sure why you were pointed to it though.

It was probably brought up as he was trying to access data on his HDD with a "data transfer cable". The new modio program can explore devices, including USB.

To do this on Modio, click on the M - explore my devices - file open/close
The older program that read these fatx was called xplorer 360.
I can't remember names of other programs that was used atm

But as someone said earlier, you have a jtagged so you could ftp your files to your xbox through network cabled in freedash, xexmenu, ...

xplorer360 should be able to do that (although you might have to find the right version for your drive).

Frankly though if you have a JTAG FTP is just as easy and if you prefer windows explorer has the option of using FTP in folder http://www.techtut.com/Tutorial/Windows/42...windows-XP.html
Linux has similar options (I recall using them in puppy linux and I am sure you can find an application to do so for other distros) and I am guessing a mac will as well.

Ok. So I was holding right button and indeed I went to my xbox regular screen. I change resolution and finally now I have HD. Worked great. Unfortunatelly some things still dont work for me.

So for COD MW2 DLC my friend told me that you need to be online to play it. Maybe the same thing is with Resident Evil?

Can you give me some nice example of dlc that is playable in Single player?

When I run Modio, and try to show content of device - I have a windos (xp) error message and that's it.

I tried Xplorer360.exe but when I open hdd/memory card it shows me two patterns on a side (0 and 3)and that's it. You can't open it or do anything with them

You don't have to be connected to play the resident evil dlc. It'll play fine offline, I'm not aware of any dlc that you have to be connected to live to play (would be pointless considering the jtags get banned).

You looking in the right place for it?, if I remember right, it should be under the play game option, then extra content.

It works now! I got newer title update and it found it right away.
Now I need to get (I guess) title update for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 so it will find my dlc.
Btw, dlc for cod mw2 is not online only I hope?

Is there a place to get titles updates? Is it legeal to post link to those files?

On my hdd, I installed bunch of games, however some of them don't have graphical icon just an image of yhe same disc. Is it normal? What to do to display for example Resident Evil icon in Freestyle Dash instead of that disc?

There is also a site/network called xbox updates centre aka XBUC, it is down at this point but can be found at http://www.xbuc.org/ when it is working.

Some groups bundle the minimum title update as well but be warned some are region/game version specific so that is not always ideal.

I have more questions:

1. My Freestyle dash is not justed in TV screen. It looks like its screen is bigger then tv so it cut egdes of the display. Is there any way to fix it?

2. I want to remove for example old xbox category from Freestyle Dash. How to do it?
Also, how to install (for example) xm360.xex in homebrew category. I made "homebrew"folder in root of my disk and copy it in it but it's not working

3. Icons in games. So I installed bunch of games in my Freestyle Dash, but some of them just show the disc icon instead of game icon in it. How to fix that?

4. Some of xbla games that I installed say "this game requires a system update". So far I found it in Lazy Raider and Lucidity. Is it just bad rom or there is a system update for that?

5. Speaking of system update, how to get safe update so I will have a real xbox avatar instead of its shadow?
Also, none of older xbox game work on my system. How to update it so I can run them in Freestyledash?

6. What is a GOD type of game?

7. Is there a homebrew to download covers and screens for each game? Do I need a cable for that or just xbox network adapter (that's what I have)?

8. I found editor for scott pilgrim game but it asks for gpd file. Where on the disk gpd files are?

i have freeboot 0.32 and nxe 9199 and just using the stock 9199 update file from the microsoft site worked fine for getting avatars working..
for the xbox 1 games.. since you already have dashlaunch, look on xbins for the xbox 1 compatibilty patch and place the kxam.patch file from the archive into the root of your hdd

6. What is a GOD type of game?
Games On Demand, you can convert 360 iso files to god games with ISO2GOD so that you can load them from the hdd in nxe (as opposed to launching the default.xex file from xexloader or similar dashboard replacement)

1)Press y and then go to the settings menu of it. There's an option there to adjust it
2)Homebrew has to be put in a folder called applications. If you want it in a folder called homebrew, then you need to add in the config file so it knows to look there instead of in the applications folder. Not sure about removing categories though.
3)Disc icons are older games (pre-nxe). If you want icons for them, you'll have to make your own nxeart file.

I am trying to play an original Red dead redemption . But it wont let me because i have to update my xbox 360. I am worried that if i do this i wont be able to play any backups , All i know is it's flashed and not a jtag

dont quote me on this, but if not jtag'd, you should be able to install the update no problems.
there is talk however that there may or may not be a way M$ can "see" a flashed dvd-drive somehow with firmware upgrades, but has yet to be fully proven.
if you are an offline console, go for it, if online, shouldnt be too much of a hassle, but maybe FAST or other 'temper may have better knowledge than I.



@Gagarin; apps like "le fuffie" or whatever, just open your GT, then drag the .gpt into the app, and thats it. although i've never properly tried to hack my GT, there should be some tuts around.
and no, they are NOT on the discs, they are found in the wilds of the internets (although i could be wrong, and could be encrypted somewhere), its easier to find them on the net.

It's an original game so can't remove the update
