I also get the 'app failed to start because config' I reinstalled .net framework and the C++ Distrib files. Still no luck, this is annoying me, is there a way you can like recomplile to fix it or something? I really would like this to work >_<

Edit: Nm, i figured ito ut

Well what was the problem? I have always all the requirements installed so I can't really test these errors...

@iDevastate : .Net 3.0 runtime should do I think... I'll investigate the root of this error when I get back to home...

Next release will be much more easier to setup... it will get configured directly parsing a save file and the xyzzy dump... it will be a matter of finding the shared secrets (sd-iv, sd-key, md5-blanker)

nice job wiicrazy, but i wonder if there would be a way to do the C64 stuff with a multi prg game like double dragon and turbo outrun.

That's still in consideration... don't worry, as soon as I find the time and motivation we will be able to inject disc based c64 games

i rely my trust on you my friend, i know you can do it and i know you will

Haha the funny thing is I uninstalled .Net 3.0 and installed 2.0 and it still doesnt work

Edit:I got it to work, you just install Win32 OpenSSL v0.9.8i Light and it works

Okay, since I'm helping my friend decrypt his brawl save, I'm running this on his Vista but we get an error that says:

"This application failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more details".

What did we do wrong? I've already installed the OpenSSL Lite on his computer as well as extracting the dll file.

Oh wow, now I have a cannot open sd-key error. I have my keys dumped in keys.txt and everything, I just don't know what to do with it from there. Well actually reading around all I know is you have to open it with a hex editor, and do something after that. Could someone help me? =D Unless its against forum rules to discuss keys and such

Edit:Diffusion is great and helped me with this. So I don't need help =p

I finally got the program to work and I'm having the error about failing to open sd-key as well. I put every necessary files in their correct folders as well. The sd-key, I copy and pasted from the keys.txt file so I don't think I did anything wrong.

Copied and pasted where? You should use an hex editor, resulting file for the sd-key should be 16 bytes or let's say in another way, there should be 16 entries in the hex editor before you save the file... and the file should be named sd-key without any extensions...

You can get a nice and free hex editor from here : http://mh-nexus.de/en/hxd/

Can the saves extracted with this be installed with Waninkoko's save installer?

Yep you can install the unencrypted contents of the save with waninkoko's installer... (the main save files under the title id directory... ignoring the banner ppm files and title file...)

Tried extracting and repacking with a lot of different save files so far and.. the results were quite positive. In fact the only save file I've had trouble with so far is MLaaK's DLC save data.. Wanted to see if I could get it extracted and repacked because of an idea I had sometime back which that would allow for fanmade downloadable content. (currently, you have to repack the entire game if you want to mod it, which is too much of a hassle for many and poses some legality issues when it comes to sharing anything.) Anyways, the attempt upon extraction of said save file results in a "bad file header size" error.. there could be a lot of reasons for this, but I won't presume to guess them.

In any case though, excellent tool you've got here. I've been waiting a long while for something like this.. (I could never get segher's tools properly compiled and working correctly..) Thanks a lot for the release.

Ok, to make everyone's life easier (including me), I wrote a small program that you can use along with FE100...

You can get the keys needed with this program... you need a save file out of your wii, an internet connection and your key dump from xyzzy to create all the files needed by FE100...

Extract it to the same place where FE100 resides... and click the four buttons from top down or enter the keys into the relevant text boxes... The hardest one is the ecc key to get since you need your xyzzy key dump for that... The rest is just automatic...

Cheers!

ps: you need the latest .net framework... I'm sorry, I have that one at the moment... I'll compile it with the older framework versions when I find time...

Yea Nice.. This should help other people that can't figure out how to get there keys..
Nice Job WiiCrazy

When I said copy and paste, I meant I copied the key from the key dump and pasted it as a hex string in XVI32. Anyway, I'll try out the new one and see how it works.

EDIT: Wait, I think I know why it didn't work. It's probably because I saved it as a .bin file because when I used the new tool, it didn't save any of the keys with a .bin extension.

Well they never had extensions, I didn't mess with the filenames in order to leave the compatibility between segher's original tools... You can copy the files in folder shared to ~\.wii and the files in folder private to ~\.wii\default under some sort of linux and can use the segher's tools too...

That's strange because my keys had the .bin extension to them when I was using segher's tools to extract my save so I assumed it was the same with this one. Anyway, I got this to work in the end for my friend so thanks alot

I see news cluttering up in the interwebz comparing my vc hack to twilight hack...

http://www.wii-addict.fr/forum/index.php?showtopic=7990

This is nonsense, in order to copy vc game save you already need to run homebrew... In my demonstration video the gecko os rebooter step to patch the nocopy flags is not shown, I guess this caused the confusion among people...

So in summary, the video about the vc injection hack is just a simple demonstration for a single use that this application can be put into...

FE100 and the key grabber just simplifies what tachtig and twintig already does... nothing more nothing less... hope those create the news posts see this explanation here...
