Rogers is the fastest in most regions, in Ontario they have a 50Mb connection but it's fucking overpriced as all hell at 149.99 a month. Harvard University did a study on the 30 most developed countries and Canada ranked around 18th overall in terms of connection performance and price point, the speed for dollar value is horrible compared to the USA, Finland and Japan.

i feel obligated to post something, just because im not canadian... im guessing the price has to do with the overall size and generally low population density of canada.

There is no excuse why they can't put down fiber optic cables in highly populated regions, Ontario alone has a land mass the size of Japan (or close to it anyway), only the northern part lacks any population density. Mainly because no one wants to live in certain parts of this country because it's too damn cold and it snows a lot. In the highly populated areas of Ontario and southern parts of most provinces, they could easily afford to put down fiber optic wires and get a high consumer base out of faster connections.

What the hell...? They don't offer anymore then 10Mbps to my area...

Where the eff do you live playallday? I live in the KW area (so does my friend Hankchill) and we have access to the fastest speeds which still are fail for what we are paying. My Rogers connection is the upgraded 10Mb one with a 60GB download cap, the cheaper 10Mb one has a slower upload rate and less download use per month. I know that hankchill's connection is like 25Mb or something, mine costs about 50 dollars a month and his is about 95, it's a freaking joke! For the prices we are paying, I should be getting a 25Mb connection and he should get 50Mb.

I live in Ottawa (NOT downtown).

I paid about the same as you, but you can't forget about all those little fees they give you.

Whoa, I think they do offer 50Mbps download now!

That's new! I'm 100% sure they didn't used to. But what the hell, it's still WAY overpriced.

I love TekSavvy

Not the fastest obviously, but 200GB per month, and the knowledge that you're paying a company fighing for Net Neutrality and against Bell's new UBB bullshit and the CRTC's bullshit.

Yeah, I like TekSavvy as well. Hopefully I'll swap to them soon.

Why don't you pay the $10 more and get as much stuff as you'd like?

1) 200GB is *way* enough for me.
2) With all this UBB crap going on, and if the CRTC continues ignoring us, then unlimited will go away soon.

Hack. Only reason my dad uses Rogers is because he gets a 50% discount on internet/phone/cell.

It's brand new, but you can only get it in Toronto currently. Way too much for that speed though, considering in other countries that might cost about 75 bucks.
