Crap, I'm really interested. Well, in 40 or 50 years, I can't wait to blow the dust off of my DS and give this a go!

As I've discovered today, Interplay chose a very ungrateful format for the tiles. Each tile may have a different size, moreover, tiles on the ground are diamond-shaped and tiles on the walls and decorations are rectangular with varied width and height. They're also all in a proprietary format which is particularily hard to convert on a PC that isn't from the stoneage... Which means that all graphics work has to be done by hand, copy-pasting from the old Fallout editor tile-by-tile and converting them to a suitable format, meaning, 8x8 tiles.

So-far I don't have much other than the desert and a tileset for buildings such as the one you can see in the screenshot, and that tileset alone took about 6 hours non-stop retouching, and it's still not "perfect". That said, I like doodling. If I find the time, I'll surely polish this up to a playable state, but university's always in the way, hence little progress was made in a year.

I'm glad to see that this project isn't dead yet.
Are there/do you plan on making left-handed controls?
I don't see why not, it's just a matter of swapping key binds.

Well, that's good to hear. I hate it when even games today for the 3/DS don't take into account left-handed people.

Like, how in Bit.Trip Saga for the 3DS (It's a collection of six games), there is one game (Bit.Trip Fate) that's nearly impossible to play, because I'm a lefty... I did beat it, but just barely...
And now I need to go back to the original topic...

If I were better at programming (I only know a little HTML) I'd lend a hand in helping this, but I don't know any DS programming, so, all I can say is, I wish you the best of luck, and hope you finish sooner, rather than later! :yay:

I remember seeing this a while ago on the DSGM forums... I almost thought you abandoned it Foxi :P
