Hacking Fake cards : Use YSmenu instead?

So the question would be why did they include that code instead of just killing the fakes immediately and leaving no question?

Probably because it is physically hard to do. I'm only guessing but could it be that they have some logic which determines it is running on a fake cart and then starts an endless write loop on the SD card to exceed it's write cycle lifetime? That would still take significant time. By this theory only the media would be destroyed, not the actual cart. Anybody know any better?

I find it to much of a coincidence that out of my ten clones the only one that is dead is the one that I tested the fake killer firmware on, and when I can be bothered I'm going to make a video of the killer firmware killing another.
