Hardware Failed to install firm catch

Hey, I bought a 3ds and it had free Shop on it, I ignored the app and added my Wi-Fi connection then was promoted to update my 3ds, I hit ok and now whenever I turn the 3ds on it says "failed to load firm catch" "press any button to restart" then shuts off and I can't do anything else

The website I linked. Click Luma3DSv9.1.7z, and unzip it. Put the boot.firm file on your 3DS's SD Card in place of the old one.

you double click the .7Z file, then a window should open up, then click and drag the files you want to wherever they are supposed to go.

I bought the 3ds already modded... And what files do I want?... You said the boot.firm but I can't find that one in the folder

get winrar (google winrar)

Get 7zip so you can open the file, it's free: https://www.7-zip.org/
Then open it and move the boot.firm file from the 7zip file to the root of your SD card and it should work. I'd tell you how to copy it to the CTR-NAND but with the level of skill you are displaying, that's too risky

WinRar can't handle 7zip or 7zip variants (eg: gzip) files, only Rar/Zip variants.

You are correct that WinRAR can't handle making 7-Zip *.7z archives. Dunno about the gzip offshoots though.
